A Report On The C-E Translation Of The Official Website Of The Hero’s World Tourist Area From The Perspective Of Eco-Translatology

With the development of China’s economy,more and more foreign tourists like to visit China’s famous nature sights and cultural landscapes,experience China’s long history and rich culture.At the same time,tourism also plays an important role in promoting local economic development.The prosperity of the tourism market has an important impact on the development of China’s economy.However,the raging pandemic has dealt a blow to the global tourism industry.On November 26,2021,the China Inbound Tourism Development Report 2021,released by China Tourism Academy,pointed out that China ranks sixth in the list of overseas destinations planned to visit,and cultural experience is the most important factor for foreign tourists to visit China.So how to improve the tourist experience and provide better language services has become the key problem.However,there are many problems in tourism English translation at present,such as inconsistent proper nouns,which lead to the uneven quality of tourism English translation.Entrusted by the official website of the Hero’s World Tourist Areas(“Xiatianxia”),the author is responsible for the English translation of part of the website’s content.This translation practice report is formed under the guidance of Eco-translatology.This translation practice mainly focuses on the adaptive selection transformation of“linguistic dimension,cultural dimension and communicative dimension.” The characteristics of tourism texts are cross-cultural communication and information dissemination,which is also in line with the theory of “three-dimensional transformation”,the requirement of which is “overcoming obstacles caused by language and cultural differences and maintaining the ecological harmony of the two languages.” This article started from the three dimensions and combined with translation skills such as literal translation,free translation,and interpretation making the translated text better integrated into the target language environment.This translation practice broadens the scope of research in the field of tourism English translation.At the same time,this report provides some references and illuminations for a more in-depth examination of tourism English translation practice under the guidance of Eco-translatology.
