Wu Mi is a famous old-style poet and poet critic. He views the development of new poetry from the standpoint of old-style poetry, actively interacts with new poetry, and directly or indirectly interacts with the 1920 s and 1930 s.The new poetry forms a dialogue relationship. When witnessing the many problems in the development of the new poetry,I try to attract the attention of the new poets with my own poetic insights,And through the interpretation of poetic theory and the creation of old-style poetry, the new poems were supplemented and corrected in time. This article attempts to start with Wu Mi’s observation and reflection on the different stages of the development of new poetry, and the main ideas are developed around the following two aspects:First of all,the new poems in the 1920 s started with early vernacular new poems represented by Hu Shi,starting with the liberation of poem forms, breaking the rhythm of poetry and writing poems in vernacular.Wu Mi opposed the transformation of poetry by the new poets, and started a direct argument with the new poets with "Xueheng" as the camp.In the mid-to-late 1920 s,Wu Mi was at the center of the development of new poetry. He had frequent exchanges with new poetry, and his attitude towards new poetry changed. At the same time, new poets began to reflect on and regulate the vernacular new poetry, and they had a consensus with Wu Mi’s poetics. Therefore, the first chapter mainly discusses from Wu Mi’s direct dialogue on the new poems of the 1920 s.Secondly,in the competition with the last new poems,he finally won because of the popularity of new poems. In the new poems of the 1930 s,Wu Mi participated in the Chinese Poetry Society and the poets of the late Crescent School and the Modern School in a distant view. The two major schools of the group are in a situation where they compete with each other and make vague comments on both sides. Therefore, the second chapter starts with Wu Mi’s indirect dialogue on the new poems of the 1930 s.Finally, influenced by The Times and the main trend of poetry,Wu Mi gradually became indifferent to the new poetry of the 1940 s and paid more attention to the old style poetry.Through the creation and activities of the old style poetry,Wu Mi provided a different reference for the new poetry. The third chapter mainly discusses the reasons of Wu Mi’s alienation from his new poems and his poetic activities.
