| Modal verbs play a very important role in Contemporary Chinese Language.They are numerous,rich in parts of speech,not fixed in the position of sentences,and have various and overlapping meanings,which are the main difficulties for Chinese learners to face.In recent years,the academic circle has carried out a series of researches on the teaching and errors of Modal verbs,and has made important scientific achievements.However,the previous researches mainly took the HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus of Beijing Language and Culture University as the source of corpus,and the discussion on spoken verbs was relatively few and insufficient.In the actual teaching process,we can often found that although the learners have a good grasp of the semantic and pragmatic knowledge of the verb of willingness,there are still some problems in the oral expression.At the same time,as an important part of spoken language,the Modal verbs have great research value.This study takes the Modal verbs as the object of study,takes the 7th season of Informal Talks as the source of corpus,based on the comparative analysis theory and the theory of teaching Chinese as a second language,uses Statistical analysis and Quantitative methods,builds corpora by IFlytek and manual translation,marks and classifies the Modal verbs,selects the example sentences suitable for this topic for analysis,and calculates the usage amount,usage rate,error amount and error rate of modal verbs.The analysis shows that the usage rate and error rate of the possible Modal verbs are the highest one,the necessary Modal verbs come second,and the willing Modal verbs are the least,and the usage rate and error rate are roughly positively correlated,which indicates that Chinese learners have a certain tendency in the use of the Modal verbs.On this basis,a new classification of the errors in the use of the Modal verbs can be set,that is,four types of bias:addition,misuse,omission and wrong sequence,and further subdivide and analyze and modify of the specific errors corpus.Based on the above research results,author believes that the causes of the errors should be analyzed from four aspects: the complexity of the Modal verbs,the simplicity and complexity of the spoken language,the teaching factors and the acquisition factors.It includes the varying quality of teachers,the deficiency of teaching materials,the influence of multilingual background,the lack of learner motivation,the particularity of conversational field,the influence of communicative strategies,and the lack of language environment,etc.By combining theory and practice,this paper puts forward relevant teaching suggestions from the aspects of teachers,teaching materials and students,in order to promote the effective grasp and use of Chinese learners’ Modal verbs. |
