With the gradual promotion of the new curriculum,more and more attention is paid to the consistency and effectiveness of teaching in the English classroom.And the integration of teaching,learning and assessment is widely accepted as an important way to achieve teaching effectiveness.The integration of teaching,learning and assessment refers to teachers’ use of classroom activities to promote the achievement of goals,with teaching goals as the guide and core,and assessment as the source of motivation.Based on the requirements of the national curriculum standards,this study attempts to design and implement an integrated model of teaching,learning,and assessment of middle school English reading based on core literacy.The research questions are as follows:(1)What are the effects of teaching,learning,and assessment integration on junior high school students’ interest and attitude toward English reading?(2)What is the effect of teaching,learning,and assessment integration on middle school students’ English reading performance?This study investigated the current situation of junior high school students’ interest and attitude in English reading,explored the problems,and analyzed the teaching,learning,and assessment integration of English reading teaching design and its implementation effect by using questionnaire survey and experimental research method.First,this study investigated the students’ interest in English learning through a questionnaire and tested their English reading scores.Based on the results of this survey,an integrated design of teaching,learning and assessment of English reading class in junior high school was carried out.Two parallel classes of the eighth grade in our school were selected as the experimental and control classes for this experiment,and a 7-week teaching experiment was conducted to verify the practical effects of integrated teaching,learning,and assessment of reading in the context of core literacy.The experimental class adopted the teaching,learning and assessment integrated teaching mode and implemented the teaching,learning and assessment integrated English reading teaching through four stages;the control class was taught by the traditional teaching method.To ensure that the research results are more realistic and convincing,this study adopted a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods,including learning achievement tests and questionnaires,and the obtained data were examined and analyzed by the software SPSS26.0.The results of the study found that:(1)After the test,the average reading score of the experimental class before the experiment was 19.60,and the average reading score of the control class was 19.05.The data showed that there was no significant difference between the English reading scores of the experimental class and the control class in the midterm exam;while in the final exam,the average English reading score of the experimental class was 24.94,and the average English reading score of the control class was 18.73.Thus,it can be seen that the experimental class and the control class This shows that the integrated teaching,learning and assessment of reading classroom can help students improve their English reading performance.(2)The questionnaire was divided into five dimensions,namely,comprehension function,pleasure,participation,knowledge expansion and knowledge application.By analyzing the results of the questionnaires before and after the experiment,it can be seen that the p-values on each dimension before the experiment were higher than 0.05,indicating that there was no significant difference in the English learning interests and attitudes of the students in the two classes before the experiment.After the integrated teaching,learning,and assessment of English reading instruction,the P-values of students in the experimental and control classes were lower than 0.05 in three dimensions: pleasure,participation,and knowledge application,indicating that there were significant differences in these three dimensions before and after the experiment.It can be seen that students’ interest in English reading was low before the experiment,and after the experiment,students’ interest in English reading was improved and they had higher motivation to read.This shows that the integrated teaching,learning and assessment classroom teaching has a significant contribution to the improvement of students’ English learning performance and the stimulation of their interest in English learning,which indicates that the teaching practice of this study has certain effect.To sum up,this study concludes that the implementation of the integrated teaching,learning,and assessment teaching mode in junior high school English reading teaching can help improve the effectiveness of junior high school students’ English learning and improve their learning efficiency.
