| At the beginning of 2020,the COVID-19 broke out,so offline teaching could not be carried out.Domestic teaching of Chinese as a foreign language and the teaching of Confucius Institutes abroad were switched to online. At the same time, due to the development of educational information technology and the particularity of teaching objects of Chinese as a foreign language, the teaching mode of Chinese as a foreign language is developing towards the trend of combining offline and online.Online teaching has a great challenge on learners’ autonomous learning ability. Therefore, this paper uses a combination of questionnaires and interviews to investigate the ability of online Chinese autonomous learning of foreign students in Z University and explore the internal and external factors that affect their online autonomous learning ability. Finally, according to results of the study, feasible paths are put forward for foreign students in Z University to improve their online autonomous learning ability of Chinese. The research results show that:(1)The average score of the online autonomous learning ability of foreign students in Z University is 148.07,which is higher than the theoretical median of 120.The overall level is relatively good.Learners are good at determining learning objectives and learning content, and will take some measures to judge whether their Chinese level is improved. However, the awareness of learning plan adjustment is not strong, the setting of learning objectives is not specific, and the ability to select and use learning methods and skills is relatively weak, especially the ability to use compensation strategies, and the ability to self-monitor is not very well.(2)There are gender differences in the online autonomous learning ability of foreign students.Women’s online autonomous learning ability is higher than that of men, especially in determining the learning content, selecting learning methods and skills, and monitoring the learning process.International students with different identities have different online autonomous learning abilities, but this difference only exists between Chinese learner and postgraduate. There is no significant difference in the online autonomous learning ability of foreign students with different Chinese proficiency.(3)In addition to online technology, other factors have an impact on the online autonomous learning ability of foreign students.Among them, internal factors(the influence of learning strategies is greater than learning motivation),external factors(material conditions: online physical environment and learning resources have the same degree of influence, and non-material conditions: teacher guidance has greater influence than student interaction). |
