Whatever on its operation level, tactical level or strategic level, Logistics has a strong trend to use spatial information science as one of its foundations. However, as for the integration methods between logistics and Spatial Information Science, we lack of a method that not only can realize their seamless integration, but also can realize that Spatial information and functions can be reused for all kinds of Logistics Information Systems, without customize for them one by one. In this report, based on the analyses of the requirements from different Logistical applications, and the studies the OGC OpenGIS standards, the author raises an Logistics Oriented Spatial Information Service High-Level Architecture. Using this High-Level architecture, even though the Logistics Information System constructors don't have GIS professional background, they can also call Spatial Information Service in their own programs, including mapping service, image service, location service, shortest path service, and so on. The main contents include:1) After analyzing the spatial information and function requirements from different Logistical applications, generalizes the main requirements from Logistics, including mapping, truck tracking, thematic map, shortest path, 3D modeling and so on.2) Raises an Logistics Oriented Spatial Information Service High-Level Architecture. This is an "user and requirement oriented" architecture, it envelops a service level by a manner that Logistics users are very easy to understand, even though they don't have GIS professional background.3) After Analyzing many kinds of shortest path algorithms, describes how to realize three kinds of shortest path applications in Logistics, including one to one point, one to more points and one to one point by way of a few middle points.4) Raises an Universal Positioning Platform to realize all kinds of LBS positioning technologies, including CELL-ID, GPSONE, GPS, and so on.5) Suggests that using Service Oriented Architecture(SOA) to realize Logistics Oriented Spatial Information Service. SOA is a very popular software architecture, IBM and BEA are now the leading technical providers. The core of SOA is loose coupling and web service.6) Introduces an example that based on the theory and technique in this report: Shenzhen Logistics Spatial Information Common Service Platform.
