Resources and environment are the basic conditions with which human beingcan survival, multiply and develop, and at the same time, which are big problemswe must to be faced with. The population of the world grows 2 times in almostone century, however, 10 times has grown in consume of energy sources andnatural resources. So a big baptism has been put forward to the human being'ssurvival and the society continuable development.Energy sources are very important matter to society development. As themain energy sources, coal, oil, natural gas, are mineral fuel, which have changedfrom some earth internal matter going through millions of years. They are notreproducible. However, geothermal energy as a reproducible and cleanly energysources, has been pay attention by more and more people lately. Our country is very affluent in geothermal resources. The data from Huangshangyao et al (Huang Shangyao et al, 1986) shows that there are 2796 thermalsprings whose temperature is over 25℃. There are 2004 thermal springs in thewest of China. There are 81 in the south of Tibet from 93 hot springs whosetemperature is more than 100℃(or above the local boiling point) in our country.Heat flow in the south of Tibetan Plateau is very high, as shows that geothermalresources in Tibetan Plateau is extraordinary abundant. We should take theadvantage of geothermal resources which are the preponderant resources inTibetan Plateau under the national West Development policy. So we should payattention to the study of geothermal resources, and offer scientific reference forthe use of them. There are all types of geothermal system, which including high temperaturesystem, middle temperature system and low temperature. These systems are thenatural laboratory we study on the geothermal resourcesIt has been become a hotspot in the circle of geosciences, for the specialgeography situation. Many geosciences scholars coming from different countrieshave come here for investigation. As a result, vast data including Remote Sensing(RS) data, geologic data, geophysical data, hydrographic data and geochemistry data have grown. How to manage, share and use the data has become a veryvaluable thing. Geographic Information System (GIS) has become favor ofscholars in the circle of geosciences for its excellent functions in the spatial datamanagement and statistical analysis. However, GIS has its disadvantages, such as,it has pour data analysis and disposal functions in some specialties. So we mustdevelop those functions base on ArcObjects offered by the software, ArcGIS orbased on ArcGIS Engine.1. macro-planningIn this paper, macro-planning has been framed established for the study ongeothermal system models in the Tibetan Plateau. Professional data manage andanalysis block has been built after the general GIS functions finished. At the sametime, a suit of methods has been set down: (1) a geothermal resources informationdatabase based on GIS has been built to store the basic geographic data, geologicdata, hydrographic data, geophysics data and geochemistry data acquired inrecently years; (2) a secondary development based on ArcGIS Engine has beencarried through in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 IDE, and the language usedduring development is Visual C#; (3) Tibetan Plateau geothermal resources havebeen appraised by the utilizing of the general methods, such as cubage method, flux on the earth's surface method and the method of equilibrium based on waterand quantity of heat etc.; (4) the temperature field numerical simulation after themagma swarmed into the rocks has been build by the use of finite element method(FEM).2. the main production(1) A geothermal resources information database by using the Access 2003 and SQLServer 2005 has been built to store the basic geographic data, geologic data, hydrographic data, geophysics data and geochemistry data acquired in recently years. Further more, the database is composed of RS sub-database, basic geographic sub-database and specialty sub-database etc.(2) Geothermal resources appreciating block and magma cooling temperature numerical simulation block have been developed based on ArcGIS Engine in the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 IDE by utilizing the new language Visual C# 2005.(3) In this paper, the data in recently years about geothermal resources in Tibet Plateau are analyzed, and the geothermal energy and the capacity of power generation are estimated too. The result shows that, the capacity of power generation in Xizang province and the west of Yunnan province is vast, a little low in the west of Sichuan province, but the total in this province is plentiful too.(4) The topic where come from the heat energy in Tibetan Plateau is discussed based on the geologic data and the inversion results of deep geophysics data. The results show that the main heat energy comes from the energy of the deep magma. And the other sources is radiogenic heat, frictional heat etc.(5) Geothermal model in Yangbajing has been brought forward base on the geologic data, geochemistry data and geophysics data etc. The geothermal resources in this region have been appreciated.3. the basic results(1) The gathering multiple subjects data and analyzing the data in a right way are the basic premises for study on geothermal systems in Tibetan Plateau, because these come down to the basic geographic data, geologic data, hydrographic data, geophysics data and geochemistry data etc. Moreover the database are built with reference to the standard and needs of Chinese Lithosphere 3D Structure Database.(2) ArcGIS Engine is embeddable GIS component libraries for building custom applications using multiple application programming interfaces (API). Those components, such as ToolbarControl, MapControl etc. are the entrance of development based on ArcGIS Engine. We can extend the functions of those components according to the needs of specialty. The system built on the .NET Framework is more excellent in those aspects of stability and version controlling. Further more, we can develop the system using different language, such as C++, Visual Basic.NET, C#, etc. directly at the same time, and need not change the codes to DLL or COM etc. and then call it.(3) After the multiple subjects data are analyzed roundly, the result shows that geothermal systems in Tibetan Plateau come into being in some conditions. In the point of global view, Tibetan Plateau is situated in the plate boundary. There are many earthquakes and volcanoes in this region. In the point of regional view, there is much water in Tibetan Plateau, such as, snow on the top of mountains, rivers and lakes. Tibetan Plateau is full of zones of rupture and paar.(4) According to deep geophysics inverse results, a good many geothermal fields are intruded by magma from deep crust or up mantle, especially in Yangbajing geothermal field and Rehai geothermal field. With the evidence of MT inverse results from Geothermal Italy (1994), there is a pocket of magma under Yangbajing geothermal field with the depth of about 5~15km. This is the main heat energy source. Yangbajing geothermal field is located in a rupture basin which is at the piedmont of Nianqingtanggulashan Mountain whose peaks are covered by snow for thousands of years. These are the advantageous conditions given birth to the geothermal field. (5) According to the results of estimate, the geothermal resources in Tibetan Plateau are very abundant. In the view of countrywide, there are 87.1% high temperature hot springs in this field. And this gives Tibetan Plateau great potential of generate electricity.4. The points of innovation and meaningInnovation:(1) Putted forward an integrated method of estimate geothermal resources in a region based on the ideas of fuzzy mathematics.(2) Putted forward a geothermal model of Yangbajing field after Summarized the exiting models based on RS data, geologic data, geophysics data and geochemistry data etc.(3) Built a geothermal information database, which included RS data, geologic data, hydrological data, geophysical data and geochemistry data etc. based on ArcGIS Engine.(4) Consummated some components of ArcGIS Engine, such as, the commands, Identify and Find in the ToolbarControl which is the buddy control of MapControl and PageLayoutControl.Meaning:①Shortage of resources and energy crisis are the global questions. The general energy, such as, coal, oil and gas are not reproducible. While geothermal energy is big enough to think as green and reproducible. So it is very valuable to study.②It is helpful to geothermal workers to understand the main heat source, form conditions and the types of geothermal systems in Tibetan Plateau in different points of view. And the main purpose is to find out the best way to utilize geothermal resources.③Been praised the Field Natural Laboratory, Tibetan Plateau, is affluent in geothermal resources. It is referrible to the use of not only local geothermal resources but also other regions.④It gives a platform to manage and share multiple data about geothermal resources, such as RS data, geologic data, hydrological data, geophysical data and geochemistry data etc.
