There are more than87thousand dams, which have played a significant role inflood control, irrigation, water supply and power generation and bring enormous socialbenefits and economic benefits in our country. However, dam safety monitoring hasbecome an increasingly important problem due to the unawareness of the effect of thesafety on the dam and the ageing trends of the long-term running engineering. Themain purpose of the dam safety monitoring is to guarantee the safe operation by meansof calculating and analyzing the various data collected by monitoring instruments thatdistributed in all part of the dam.In order to solve the problem of large dam monitoring, space wide distribution ofmonitoring instrumentation and the processing and analysis of massive monitoringdata, this paper uses the Visual Studio platform, which has visual design interface anda large number of tools platform for the user to call and has the advantages of theintegrated deployment, to research and develop the three-dimensional geographicinformation and monitoring surveillance dam safety monitoring system. We has designthe system equipped with four functional modules including information querymaintenance subsystem, visualization subsystem, model analysis subsystem, andwarning and forecasting subsystem. GIS platform models the3D GIS model of thedam using application TIN and raster surfaces specifically. We combine the rastersurface with professional modeling software SketchUp to enable users to have anintuitive understanding of the geographical environment of the dam and to rebuild andrestore the dam in three-dimensional environment to greatest degree.The system usesthe C#language which can call ArcGIS Engine to provide developers with a GIScomponent, such as mapping controls,3D controls, frame control. The system isestablished equipped with function of monitoring information query, monitoring dataanalysis and processing, and visual display by taking the advantage of powerful GIScollection, storage, analysis and processing of massive geographic data.This paper analyzes the mathematical monitoring model involved in discourseanalysis of dam safety monitoring system. The core idea of the model and itstheoretical knowledge are presented taking the example of multivariate statisticalregression model and gray model. Visual Basic language is utilized to calculate themultivariate statistical regression model and gray model GM (1,1) modeling, and thereasonable analysis and forecasting is made for monitoring data. The platform basedon VS and combining with C#language is programmed to monitor the data analysis procedures embedded in dam safety monitoring system and can achieve the seamlessconnection between the system and monitor data analysis programs. This papercombine the real-time settlement data of embankment dam engineering with the majormathematical model to explore the methods of analyzing dam safety monitoring data.The research has shown that statistical regression model and gray GM (1,1) model canaccurately reveal the laws of the settlement, providing a powerful tool for DamConstruction Safety monitoring.This paper has established an safety monitoring system with the function of agood data management, monitoring data analysis and visualization, combining withthe Reservoir Dam Projects. The statistical regression model and gray model includedin the system can analysis and forecast the monitoring data conveniently andeffectively, which has achieved a satisfactory result. More important, it provides avalid reference for building the system of information, visualization of dam safetymonitoring.
