Study On The Ecological Crisis In The Realm Of Modern

With the continuous and rapid development of productivity and science and technology, modern humans are changing the world and creating enormous material wealth with a powerful force. They makes the mankind enter the era of industrialization of material abundance and makes mankind get deep satisfaction from materials. However, humans are too intoxicated with the victory of nature, forgetting “Heaven and Earth, nature is human’s mother”,and betraying nature. Thus it leads to constant deterioration in ecological environment. Nature gradually revenges against humankind; ecological crisis has become a global problem of this time; it force humans to approach the brink of death. There are only two choices put in front of people: change yourself( as an individual and as a member of the human community); or be doomed to disappear from the earth. Therefore, we must start to reconsider the meaning of human progress and development. We must re-examine and reconstruct the relationship human and nature. To save nature, cherish nature and eliminate the ecological crisis properly become our inescapable historical mission.If eliminate the ecological crisis fundamentally, we cannot avoid modernity, because it has become a time horizon we live in. Modernity is closely related to our lives, and it infiltrate into people’s lives in different areas and different ways. Modernity as internal regulation in modern society, contains fundamental quality different from traditional society. It is changing our world we are living in. It gives us material well-being; at the same time, it also brings ecological tragedy. Essentially seen, modernity is the process of pursuing freedom and social progress by humans, which shows spirits of times and social quality. From the view of the pillars of its existence; supported theoretically by the principle of subjectivity; secular based on capital logic, it is involved in many areas of economy, politics, culture and society, etc. It has the general concept of inner tension. From the open perspective, modernity is constructed by the multiple form of different times and different society. Modernity is different rendering different forms and achieved forms. Capitalist modernity is the social representation in the particular context of the times. In the meantime, the essay defines “Socialist modernity.” In the area of “socialist modernity”, although the definition of its meaning is not clear, in fact, its mention reflects the future direction of modern development. It has a subjective necessity. It is a thinking on the ecological crisis based on capitalist modernity. In the meantime, it also becomes vision of development of modernity and emphasized by people.It can realize the promotion and abandonment towards capitalist modernity and capitalist industry. By construction of the socialist and ecological civilization, harmony between humans and nature is achieved.Ecological crisis has a deep bond with modernity. Ecological crisis is not rooted in the general sense of modernity, but originated directly from the “crisis and predicament” of capitalist modernity. In the true sense, modernity is different from “capitalist modernity”, because it began from the modernity of the Enlightenment. Its connotation has times spirits that people pursue freedom, happiness and social progress. It represents that people yearn for freedom and progress. It displays obvious characteristics of history, era and value. It is human’s “unfinished business”. However, capitalist modernity turns back on its original ideal aiming for human freedom and liberation and brings people into “new” oppression and slavery. When humans dominate nature, humans are also “controlled” by nature. It contributes to ecological crisis, highlighting the crisis of modernity. But this does not mean that the value ideal of human society promised by modernity has been devoid; and it does not mean the end of the modernity. It just shows there is deviations of form and path of realizing ideal of value. Only if we overthrow capitalism, we can truly achieve the transcendence of capitalist modernity. It can perform to its highest potential of modernity and resolve the crisis of modernity.Capitalist modernity is a modernity based on secular of capital logic of continuous expansion, accompanied by the development of capitalism, relying on the capitalism, supported by the metaphysical philosophy. With the development of society, capitalist modernity continually realistic about capitalized industrialized civilization and drives the progress of the history. But in the meantime, it brings many negative effects and creates a series of serious problems, especially ecological problem. Therefore, we must bring modernity back into “authentic”, achieving transcendence. Achieved mainly by three actual paths: one is to insist on the practice principles and ecological innovation of modern practice way, to transcend subjective metaphysics; two is the collapse of capital logic; three is the construction of ecological civilization and to discard the capitalist industrial civilization, beyond the capitalist modernity and the process of building a new modernity.China, as a part of the world, is now surrounded by modernity and threatened by the ecological crisis. Specifically, we are still in the primary stage of socialism. Because we give priority to economic development for a long time, we fail to protect and use rationally ecological resources, it contribute to and exacerbate environmental pollution and ecological deterioration. In view of this, we are faced with a very real problem, that is humans want to survive and society need development. Humans cannot avoid the transformation and use of nature. However, this necessitates conflict between social development and environmental protection. To resolve this conflict, we must choose the problem of modernity we chase in the process. The difference is the existing difference of that the country treats modernity and depth and length of modernity. So our country should built Chinese modernity and construct socialist ecological civilization with Chinese characteristics and a beautiful country based on the concrete reality of socialism with Chinese characteristics and based on the sustainability of social development, in order to realize the great rejuvenation the nation. This is our great Chinese dream and unrelenting pursuit. Anyway, we should promote people’s ecological literacy and regulate effectively the capital operation in the Chinese market economy under the guidance of scientific views of development in order to make it serve socialist construction. In the meantime, we should strengthen top layer design, increase input, participate on multilateral basis and actively construct Chinese modernity. We must take a path of sustainable development different from capitalist industrial civilization and implement “ecology-oriented modernization” and open up a civilized road of green development with Chinese characteristics in order to eliminate and resolve ecological crisis.
