Research On Miao Costumes' Museumization In The Context Of Modernity

In order to achieve the eternal development of society and the accumulation of material wealth,modernity manages and plans all aspects of social life with scientism and rationalism,and takes social progress and personal success as the ultimate value orientation.,As a result,cold mechanized productions replaces the traditional handicraft arts with temperature,and makes people in a state of impetuous,anxious and uneasy life for a long time.Therefore,in the context of the financial supremacy and depressing life society,some people are eager to find exoticism that is opposed to modernity,or to obtain historical artifacts that have been sealed in the tradition,and to return to the original truth and nature.The other part,who driven by the power of capital,hopes to find an opportunity that is easy to earn large amounts of money.For this reason,traditional Miao costumes with a long history,deep cultural heritage,and distinctive ethnic characteristics are deeply loved by people.They are purchased,collected,preserved,displayed,and researched by different social subjects,the Miao residents,who are the mainstay of the culture,are actively catering to the consumption and collection activities of the traditional costumes in order to increase the family economic income,improve the material conditions,and enjoy the benefits of modernity.However,the "selling" and "buying" interactions(ie,the main body spatial network relationship)between the cultural subjects and the consumers have promoted the museumizated development of traditional Miao costumes.So,this article takes the Miao costume----Yahui birds-clothing in the delivery village of Songlong,Danzhai,Guizhou as an example,uses the methods of literature analysis,anthropological field investigation,participatory observation,and in-depth interviewing,and Studies on the Formation of the Museumization of Miao People's Costumes and their Cultural Significance in Danzhai,with the aid of cultural authenticity theory,social construction theory and modernity theory.First of all,the original sacred process of theYahui bird costume in the case area is the result of its closed village social construction and national self-construction.;Second,with the arrival of modernity,the closed and traditional village society in the case area was opened,Yahui bird-costume experienced the process of deconstruction from the original “sanctification” and the reconstruction of modern “secularization”,Its identity changes from traditional "living supplies" to "market trading products",and It has happened in commercialization,vulgarization,and museumization.;Finally,driven by the appeal of capital power and cultural authenticity,the social subject formed by official museums,private museums(ie,cultural and economic people),native villagers(including ordinary villagers and community elites),national cultural researchers,and national cultural developers(ie,national handicraft developers)has constructed the main spatial network relationship behind the museumization,The process of constructed main spatial network relationship is the process of walking from a remote,small mountain village to home and abroad and spreading its culture.,and is the process in which remote and closed place of Songlong village is linked to the world,and is also the construction process of the Museum of Yahui bird costume.Therefore,this article helps to more deeply understand the changes of national dress culture,and for the accumulation of national culture protection and inheritance of case studies through a comprehensive analysis of the spatial relationship behind the Museum of Yahui bird costume.
