Eco-environment in western China is very fragile. It has been degraded more or less with excessive human events. Supported jointly by Chinese National Key Project for Basic Research (Grant No. G2000077907) 'Study on application of quantitative remote sensing in environmental construction of west China' and National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant NO. 40271082) 'Study on modeling for quantitative analysis of regional ecological environment using multi-angle MISR data', this paper aims at eco-environment investigation in Inner Mongolia with remote sensing data such as multi-angle MISR data and multi-spectral MODIS data, by extracting the directional and structural information, inversing the surface parameters, developing regional biomass remote sensing model and eco-environmental dynamic model. Followed is the main content of this work.MISR level 2 data products provide narrow band albedos. With Wehrli Standard Extraterrestrial Solar Spectra (1985) and four narrowband albedos from MISR, the broadband albedos (400-900nm) is calculated using piecewise linear interpolation. The apparent albedo is equivalent to that measured by albedometer in the field, as well as the inherent albedo is more intrinsic to surface information and totally independent of the atmospheric condition. This paper described the atmospheric condition with optical depth τ and the cosine of the sun angle μ0 , then found the 3 degree polynomial function between the two albedos and the atmospheric condition.Starting with the Geometric-Optical and radiative transfer model, this paper presented a spectral-directional reflectance remote sensing model of regional-scale for the semiarid grassland. It counted two most important scene elements in grassland...
