Hybrid machine tool is a variation design in order to avoid scarcities of traditional and parallel machine tools. It combines serial and parallel structure and inherits the characteristics of large workspace, bigger agility, axes independent control and easy calibration from traditional machine tool, and bigger ratio of rigidity and avoirdupois, fast response, higher machining accuracy, better suitability for circumstance and higher content of technology from parallel machine tool. Hybrid machine tool spurns disadvantages in pure parallel and serial machine tool which leads to an effective increase in recombination, processing capability and machining accuracy.The dissertation studied related control algorithms for 3-TPS hybrid machine tool designed by Northeastern University and related control algorithms were given. The details of the study were as following:(1) A few configurations of open CNC system based on PC were studied. The structure requirements and characteristics were expatiated for open CNC system of parallel machine tool. The application status and basic structure for open CNC system under network were investigated.(2) The configuration characteristics and calculation methods for degree of freedom (DOF ) of 3-TPS hybrid machine tool were analyzed. Calculation methods for reverse and direct position, in-out velocity of 3-TPS hybrid machine tool were summarized. Factors which affect workspace were analyzed.(3) For machining question of complex parts, the arithmetic which creates curve and surface for complex parts was given.(4) Under consideration of multi-axis processing, mathematical models describing cutting tool track of 3-TPS hybrid machine tool were established for 3-axis and 5-axis machining and nonlinear error from related algorithms was analyzed and calculated with compensation arithmetic for the error presented.(5) Based on structural features and motion characteristics of 3-TPS hybrid machine tool, coordinates transformation equations were developed for 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis machining and for horizontal-vertical conversion machining, and mathematical models for related control algorithms of machine tool movement and...
