When polymers are exposed to the sunlight, the ultraviolet (UV) radiation sooner or later induces chemical reactions. As a result of these reactions, the mechanical, chemical or optical properties of a polymeric material can become worse. To solve these problems, many organic photo-stabilizers are applied traditionally. However, they have some shortcomings: (1) the organic stabilizers migrate easily to the surface of polymeric materials due to the bad compatibility and relatively low molecular weight; (2) over long periods of time, the organic stabilizers themselves can be consumed; (3) some organic stabilizers more or less are noxious. Many inorganic nanoparticles, such as nano zinc oxide (ZnO), titanium oxide (TiO2) particles, can shield UV light. Compared with organic stabilizers, inorganic nanoparticles are innoxious and do not migrate in a polymer matrix, thus they can overcome organic stabilizers' shortcomings. With the development of nanotechnology, the application of inorganic nanoparticles as UV light stabilizer has been the object of many studies. However, when inorganic nanoparticles are applied in polymer, the dispersion of inorganic nanoparticles in a...
