The life of oil field from finding to discarding can be tens of years or even more and it is an industry of manpower intensive, capital intensive and technique intensive. Reservoir management has the main character of settling technical problem by multidisciplinary cooperation. So it is widely used in abroad oil companies and distinguished effects have been obtained. Recently, our three main oil companies are practicing different models of reservoir management. With the development of reservoir management work, it is necessary to evaluate and examine situation of the managed units. The managed reservoir unit should establish scientific evaluation method and target system to comprehensively evaluate the effect of production and cost control. However, there are still no scientific and systematic methods to study it.To understand the present situation of reservoir management unit and based on deeply investigate characters of each evaluation target in oil field exploitation, reservoir management unit is divided into four parts, that is, reserve class evaluation, exploitation level evaluation, exploitation management level evaluation and financial affairs level evaluation. Two-stage comprehensive fuzzy appraisal model is built with the help of fuzzy mathematics theory. Combined with No.2 management block in Gudao oil field, comprehensive reservoir management evaluation is realized. By analysis of reserve value of reservoir management unit, the main factors that affect reserve value are oil price and cost. Based on analyzing present cost control methods used in oil companies and in view of the deficiency, an advanced cost management method, activity based costing method, is introduced. With it, oil field production can be divided into three homogenous cost pools and oil field exploitation cost is analyzed detailedly to find the main reason that causes cost increment. Centered on improving economic benefits of oil field exploitation and development, economic yield models for different situation are built and the effect of oil price, water cut and cost on economic yield is then discussed. Operational research theory is then introduced into reservoir management and mathematic models for oilfield yield planning and measure planning for stable yields are built subjecting to target of economic benefits and constraint condition of present technique. As an example, those models are then used in No.2 management block in Gudao oilfield. Combinational model and method based on support vector machine are introduced in prediction of oil yield and increment oil produced by measure, which improves accuracy of prediction. In order to check the performance of reservoir management unit and operators objectively, balanced scorecard of reservoir management unit are established to have performance appraisal. The four quadrant of balanced scorecard represent financial affairs, increment, internal flow chart and study and development separately. With the application of balanced scorecard, comprehensive evaluation on management units can be realized and the production run situation can be mastered accurately.
