A Study Of The Environmental Ethics And Its Relation With The Development Of The Economic Society

Environmental problem has gradually evolved into a global problem since the industrial civilization. At present, different viewpoints and a clamor of different opinions exist concerning the root analysis of the environmental crisis and ecological imbalance and countermeasure mentality research, which involve technical angle perspectives, economic analyses, philosophy reconsidering, and environmental science and ecology research. The writer holds that the environmental problem is certainly not a pure natural phenomenon, and not a pure technological or economic problem, but an extremely complex and comprehensive big system under the chief topic of the relation between human beings and nature. It is apparent that a persuasive, correct conclusion can not be drawn from some sole discipline such as environmental science, ecology, ecological economics, economics, ethics and so on. This article, from the angle of environmental ethics, pursues the perspective and analysis from the high level of philosophy and ethics to open a new way to the study of environmental problem by synthesizing the research results of the above disciplines and combining such factors as human beings, nature, environment, ecology, resources, economy, society, etc.Firstly, this article gives a relatively systematic summary to the establishment and development of environmental ethics, especially western environmental ethics. It analyzes different development phases of anthropocentrism, especially non-anthropocentrism. It clearly states the values and the imperfection and flaw of environmental ethics on different development stages based on the analysis of the Animal Liberation Theory or Animal Rights Theory, Biology-Center Theory, Ecology-Center Theory, then states the enlightening value of the above thoughts to solving today's environmental problem. By summarizing the development of western environmental ethics, this dissertation gives a brief review to Chinese ancient ecology wisdom and the research state of contemporary Chinese environmental ethics.Secondly, the establishment of environmental ethics is a dialectical denial of the traditional interpersonal ethics. This dissertation gives a detailed analysis to the flaw of ethics targeting at the study of interpersonal and human-society relations, the result of environmental ethics deficiency and the way, the significance of the breakthrough and development of environmental ethics surpassing traditional ethics. Based on the above, this dissertation puts forwards the basic principles and central rules of environmental ethics. To explore the theoretical implications of environmental ethics at a deeper level, the dissertation studies post-modernism and its significance, and also the dilemmas it faces. Hence, it broadens and strengthens the perspective and depth in theoretical dimensions.Thirdly, the dissertation focuses on a penetrating study on the relations between environmental ethics and economic development from the following aspects such as: establishing the discipline mechanism, production behaviors and environmental problem, consumption behaviors and environmental problem. After disclosing the existing problems, the writer states the intrinsic relations between economic development and environmental problem, and then indicates the intrinsic value and instructive meaning of environmental ethics to production (including population reproduction) and consumption.Fourthly, the focus of this dissertation is also on the study of the relations between environmental ethics and social development. population problem and environmental problem, Combining problems in reality, the dissertation dwells on the major relating aspects of environmental problem and social life from the environmental ethics in environmental protection, the relations between environmental ethics and the legal system, peoples'life style and environmental ethics, environmental ethics in decision-making, environmental ethics and the legal system, etc.. It discloses the social root and the cognitive root of environmental problem and indicates that the involving and mingling of environmental ethics is indispensable to the development of the society.Fifthly, this dissertation focuses on the sustainable development environmental ethics and its significance to Chinese modernization program. This dissertation briefly discusses the development and major implications of the sustainable development theory, then analyzes the most difficult problem of the sustainable development environmental ethics-the pursuing process of inter-generation ethics and its crux, thus puts forwards the basic ideas of solving the problem from coping with the relations between inter-generation and inner-generation. Next, this dissertation advances the rational core, theoretical imperfection of the sustainable development theory and the choice of future routes by analyzing the relations between environmental ethics and sustainable development theory. On such bases, the writer analyzes in great detail the major problems China faces when carrying out the sustainable development strategy and proposes the counter measures.
