In the realm of supramolecular chemistry,great interest has recently been focused on the crystal engineering of coordination frameworks due to their intriguing architectures,new topologies,and their potential applications in adsorption,ion exchange,gas storage,biology activity,optical,electronic and magnetic.It is demonstrated that rational design and considerate selecting special organic structure through appropriative approach of assembly should to be the key in constructing target polymers and which is a stubborn challenging work for scientists either.In this paper,with the aim of preparing novel materials with beautiful architecture and excellent properties,we select flexible,rigid pyridylamine and muiti-functional pyridylcarboxylate as building blocks to construct coordination compounds with selected transition metal ions and SBUs guided by assembly principle of coordination polymer crystal engineering.The role of solvent,anions,metal ions,SBUs and different synthesis method has also been discussed.Fifteen coordination compounds have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis, IR spectra,thermal analysis,XRPD analysis,fluorescence spectroscopy,magnetic susceptibility measurement and DFT calculation.They are listed as follows: {[Cu(dpap)(OAc)2]·0.5CH3OH}n(1·0.5CH3OH),{[Cu(dpap)(maa)2]·2CH3OH}n (2·2CH3OH),[Cd(dpap)(mal)]n(3),{[Cd(dpap)(dbsf)]·2H2O}n(4),{[Mn(dpap) (dbsf)]·1.5H2O}n(5),{[Co(bpp)(H2O)4]·dbsf}n(6),[Ni(pydc)2]·(dpap)·8H2O(7), [Cu(dpdapt)Cl2](8),[Cu(dpdapt)(NO3)(H2O)]·NO3·H2O(9),[Cu(dpdapt) (cro)]·CH3OH(10),[Cu2(μ-O)(dpdapt)2]·2ClO4·2H2O(11),{[Ni(dpdapt)(BDC) (H2O)]·3.5H2O}n(12),{[Mn(bpdc)(2H2O)]·H2O·CH3OH}n(13),{[Ag2(bpdc)(bpp) (H2O)]·2H2O}n(14),{[Ag2(bpdc)(dpa)]·2H2O}n(15).The results revealed that closed related 1·0.5CH3OH and 2·2CH3OH could be obtained by the change of anions. Long space ligands can increase channels width and bring guest inclusion in the host. The polymers have selective guest adsorption ability and belong to new porous materials.The metal-carboxylate chain(3),(8210)topology network(4)and 2D "sandwich" architecture(14),"ladder" structure(15),which are construct by Ag-Ag contact obtained by introduce of SBUs unit.Sometimes,the metal do not make role change for the structures(4 and 5).The different coordination ability result the free of ligand in 6 and 7.The coordination modes of dpdapt in 8,9,10,11,12 are all-anti. Furthermore,the rigid ligand provides potential supramolecular recognition sites, which have important role in the construction of supramolecular polymers.Unusual hetero-chiral water chains coexistence in the one channel(12)constitute a potentially important form of water chain that related to many fundamental biological processes.
