Kinetic parameters and contamination dynamic migration experiment of mine water purification with high turbidity, high concentration of iron and manganese in goaf were carried out. Based on the experiment data, the migration model of iron and manganese in goaf was established. Meanwhile, the removal mechanism of suspended substance (SS), iron and manganese was studied. The result shows mine water purification in goaf is a very good pre-treatment technology for the situ treatment and utilization of underground mine water with high turbidity, high concentration of iron and manganese. A kind of modified lava with good physical and chemical stability was developed. It has characters with fast start-up time and good iron, manganese removal effect. Based on the analysis of scanning electronic microscope (SEM), energy spectrum and XRD, the removal mechanism of iron and manganese was discussed. It found that active filter membrane comes into being on the surface of filter media as auto catalyzed oxidations after modification. On the basis of the above research, the new technology of underground mine water treatment was developed and its process parameters were optimized. This will offer technological guidance for underground mine water treatment with high turbidity; high concentration of iron and manganese.
