Manufacturing excellence extent, technology level and scale is the main symbol of national comprehensive strength. NGGPS (Next Generation Geometrical Product Specification and Verification) development and application is the general trend. The paper titled " Research and Implementation Mechanism on uniform information platform of NGGPS-based manufacturing features", has systematically studied NGGPS standard,the key technology and realization method of manufacturing information unified, and it has important academic value and practical significance to GPS Theory and Application. The paper is supported by the Chinese Postdoctoral Fund (20080440754) and New Century Excellent Talents in Ministry of Education project Fund (No.NCET-08-0211).The national and international research status of manufacturing information unified and GPS is analyzed. In this paper, Discussion of the NGGPS standards and application methods, Further Research and Implementation Mechanism on uniform information platform of NGGPS-based manufacturing features. The main work includes the following parts:⑴The framework of NGGPS-based uniform information platform is proposed. In design stage, its subsystem -CAx integrated system aim to complete product information by using of NGGPS manufacture features information. The SOA-based subsystem provides an integrated environment for NGGPS function and information. The interface module provides access to data and functions for realization of highly-efficient integration of data and function between heterogeneous systems.⑵The mathematical logic model and application of NGGPS in CAx integrated system is put forward. UML is adopted for modeling and analyzing NGGPS & CAx integrated system. Consequently, a series of UML diagram were obtained, such as case diagram, sequence diagrams and class diagrams, etc. NGGPS object functions as the key of NGGPS-based CAx integrated system. Therefore, mathematical logic NGGPS model is build based on the theory of NGGPS and object-oriented technology is adopted for implement and application of the modeling method. The results show it has clear structure, complete information and function, easy implementation, excellent scalability and portability, while it facilitates the network-based data sharing and collaboration operations.⑶The architecture block diagram of SOA-based manufacturing information system is proposed. The system is adaptive, intelligent, scalable and flexible; it has a wide field of application and compatibility. It could integrate functions and data of Manufacturing related systems, CAx(CAD, CAM, CAT) MRP and ERP etc. After studying Handling mechanism of object-oriented XML metadata format (OOXMF) model, the symbol definition and the structure hierarchy table are established. The OOXMF model is characterized as platform and producer independence, ease use and low cost, because it can handle unknown state or additional data element afterwards easily.⑷Based on NGGPS meta-data information storage Mechanism, the CAx documents can be converted to the same OOXMF to realize reunification storage, significantly reducing the number of different formats. An incremental backup method is proposed to achieve the version control of object-oriented NGGPS information associated with Synchronization Information Update. Information retrieval methods are put forward systematically: the methods of word normalization and clustering analysis are given and judgment criterion for excluding low-frequency words is draw up, with respect to the difficulty for users to quickly locate, when the query condition is sensitive. Simulation experiments have processed and the result prove its effectiveness. By means of studying the workflow control of NGGPS operational chain, user-defined visualization workflow control and management is realized to meet the diverse needs of NGGPS operational chain.⑸After discussing integrated authorized access interface function for unified platform, a combination with the permission management module of the operating system is proposed, which greatly reduces the workload of development, provides the system administrator with a unified user management interface and is conductive to centralized management and control. With the access related objects provide by SharePoint, the unified platform for application rights management system achieve custom authorization access functionality integrated with the system, which is characteristics as rights management flexibility and high efficiency. It makes full use of a high level of operating system security to enhance self-development application system security.⑹Aiming at achieve an intuitive definition of NGGPS function under network environment, which can be conveniently invoked and work synergistically and flexibly, mathematical expression and calculation methods with NGGPS function applied are proposed. It provides an intuitive, convenient, flexible NGGPS applications and function extension. According to the mathematical description of NGGPS geometric characteristics, the NGGPS ideal surface model, specification surface model and certification surface model are combined together by the use of limited feature point. Furthermore, expression of feature point is extended by unified space conversion to matrix operations, calculating formula for feature space point translation around the x / y / z axis, or in even complex spatial transformation. Therefore, it could realize composite transformation calculation of any space.⑺NGGPS extensions implementation method based on algorithm visual edition is proposed. MathML is adopted to achieve visualization NGGPS features editor, and MatLAB to achieve NGGPS function operations. Consequently, NGGPS becomes more feature-rich, support the visual network editor. In addition, it can be embedded plug and play into the function interface to achieve NGGPS function expansion conveniently and flexibly. It provides users with NGGPS tools which are more easier to master and apply.⑻In accordance with SOA-based manufacturing information application system servers running chart, a manufacturing feature information unified applications platform based on NGGPS is built using VS.NET. The system framework is constructed using SharePoint. Application system achieves a unified platform for the work library to support collection and storage of object-oriented XML document meta-data OOXMF information, and achieves a sound-based OOXMF incremental version control function. In addition, this system support NGGPS function operations in the design, manufacture and certification district, and it also achieves workflow management and control, advanced search feature for NGGPS knowledge center.The experiments indicate that "based on a unified platform for NGGPS manufacturing feature information application system" can initially achieve NGGPS application in geometry processing, reduce the difficulty of NGGPS use, more efficiently control manufacturing operation workflow and NGGPS chain, and provide user-defined workflow programs to address the implementation and control of complex workflow.
