As the strategy of manufacturing enterprises in the 21st century, agile manufacturing is a new -type manufacturing mode adaptable to international product market environment. Studying the information system under this mode has important theoretical and practical significance to the realization of agile flexible manufacturing and the rapid development of manufacturing industry in our country. Based on systematic analysis of the current state of study on agile manufacturing and it's information systems , this paper explores the concept , function structure, modeling and configuration of agile manufacturing information systems starting from the philosophy of agilemanufacturing .Firstly, based on analysis of the basic characteristics of agile manufacturing and the information requirements of agile manufacturing enterprises, the author puts forward the concept of agile manufacturing systems, establishes the functional structure of agile manufacturing systems. This structure consists of five subsystems, i.e. operational management and decision-making support subsystem, engineering analysis and design subsystem, process-manufacturing subsystem, quality control subsystem, and supporting platform subsystem. These are the basis for studying agile manufacturing information systems.Secondly, through in-depth analysis of requirements that agile manufacturing enterprises put on information systems , the author clarifies the concept, connotations and features of agile manufacturing information systems (AMIS), and makes comparisons with traditional information systems. Based on systematic analysis of the infrastructure supporting agile manufacturing enterprises, the author establishes an architecture of AMIS. At the same time, the author proposes an abstract hierarchical structure of AMIS by employing the ideology of object-oriented system analysis, and decomposes itinto resource level, function level and process level .Thirdly, according to the features of agile manufacturing enterprises coalition , and the view point of information integration in advanced manufacturing systems , the author establishes a model of agile manufacturing information systems (AMIS), and describes the modeling process of AMIS according to the different development stage of AMIS . By employing the design thought of multi-agent and the object-driven process modeling method, the author gives the process model of AMIS, and multi-agent-based agile manufacturing information systems .Then, the author studies problems relevant to AMIS construction. The construction process of AMIS is given according to the agility requirement of AMIS, and the re-construction process of AMIS is divided into process re-construction, function re-construction and resource re-construction in line with the hierarchical relationship of AMIS. Emphasis is given to resource re-construction since it is the basis of the AMIS re-configuration. Techniques of agile design method and integration scheme of AMIS are also explored.Finally, the author studies the implementation of AMIS, proposes an integral frame of AMIS implementation , constructs an open , extendable, reusable, hetero-component compatible agile information service platform and an AMIS data center, implements he design of AMIS software frame with Web Services as it's center , provides a solution for ensuring system agility, and gives the specific implementation procedures of data integration, data exchange, data sharing and data resources construction of AMIS based on the structural frame of AMIS.
