Oriented from the point of view of nature and urban development, the study demonstrates relationship between urban and nature under the ecological context. Cities as places of high-density human activity are impacted by human-being in all the time. The directions of urban development are subjected to the attitude and creating ways towards cities and nature in somehow, meanwhile, the urbanization process is confined by natural ecology, a carrier for the city. Urban impacts on the nature are itself reflected in the natural process, urban environment is influenced by the connection of urban and nature, which also includes natural and cultural production and implementation. In this context, nature is not just "objects" isolated from urban development, but also "process" integrated into urban development for reaching a real sustainable development. The main target of this study is to discuss the connection and interaction between natural process and urban water-space. Firstly, the study concludes the composition of the urban water-space and features as a summary, based on the meaning of urban water-space, space-form, function composition and cultural identity. Then, through quantitative and qualitative analysis, the study is to summarize the properties and evolution of processes of the natural elements in water-space, including water, plants, soil, wildlife and climate, and interactions, propose a structure of natural process system based on the water-cycling as the core of water-space process. Under the impact and influence of urban activities, the study comparatively propose the structural system changes of the water-space natural process, which mainly caused by the vertical and horizontal structures of water-space. The study summarizes the current methods and measures of urban water-space renovation from different views, mainly including four areas:environmental economics, ecological and environmental engineering, landscape recreation and policy monitoring. The urban water-space remediation practices are analyzed the under the guidance of the specific principles. In order to reduce the interferences and impacts of natural processes by urban, and restore the natural properties of the process, the author proposes the urban water-space renovation strategy based on natural processes. On the urban water-space renovation program, in the first hand, it is to set up the investigation and analysis of urban water-space natural processes on the holistic and specific natural elements, aims to discover the relationship and contradictions between natural elements on the context of site-region. Then, based on the analysis of survey of urban water-space processes, study proposes two basic principles to restore the natural processes of water-space:1. Vertical mobility of water-space;2. Horizontal continuity of water-space.Under the guidance of two basic principles, study proposes that urban water-space renovation measures with "macro-middle-micro" three spatial scales:1) Ecological network measures in macro-scale.2) Structural site measures in middle-scale.3) Environmental technologies measures in micro-scaleFinally, through our own project the study addresses natural processes applied in the planning practice of Shouguang Mi River.
