The current phenomenon of fewer children is becoming increasingly prominent,and young people’s willingness to have children is becoming lower due to factors such as parenting costs,reproductive environment,and ideological changes.In addition,the "China Children’s Development Outline Notice" points out that necessary conditions should be provided for children’s growth.In the high-density development of cities,the phenomenon of children’s public play spaces being compressed,single types of activity venues,network environment invasion,and lack of playmates has led to children being estranged from the natural environment,and children suffering from natural deficiency syndrome have also led to many cases of physiological and psychological problems.Nature education,as an educational model to alleviate such problems,has gradually gained people’s attention.This study is based on the concept of "natural education".Through literature analysis,comparative analysis,field research,and KJ analysis,quantitative analysis is conducted to identify the problems in urban children’s public activity spaces,explore how to integrate the concept of natural education into urban children’s daily lives,and awaken children’s interest in the natural environment through a learning approach that combines education with pleasure.Enable children to meet their adaptive learning and physical and mental development needs in a good "urban natural environment",in order to promote the comprehensive development of children’s physical and mental health.By reviewing the development process of natural education both domestically and internationally through existing literature,we aim to grasp the cutting-edge direction of current natural education and seek inspiration for the future development of natural education in China.In order to seek the ideal form of integrating the concept of natural education into urban children’s public activity spaces,excellent design cases at home and abroad are selected to explore the design concepts and ideas in the cases.The KJ analysis method is used to summarize the elements related to nature,and to seek feasible directions and innovative design points for children’s activity spaces in China in the future.Due to differences in national and local conditions,foreign design concepts cannot be directly applied to children’s activity spaces.Using the analysis results of excellent cases as a guiding direction,select representative research areas to quantitatively analyze the distribution and classification of urban parks within the region,select sample urban parks for on-site research,analyze the problems of children’s activity spaces and their actual needs,and explore the design direction of children’s activity spaces suitable for the national conditions.Based on the above analysis,combined with the enlightenment of excellent design cases,the current situation of urban parks and the actual needs of children,the design concepts and strategies suitable for the public activity space of urban children in China are proposed.Based on the design concepts of "naturalness","safety","functionality" and "education",three design strategies are proposed to optimize activity types,increase children’s activity space,and integrate natural landscape resources.Guided by this,representative case objects were selected for design practice,attempting to propose a design plan for optimizing urban children’s public activity spaces.Previously,it provided practical and theoretical references for future children’s activity space design.
