The dry-bored composite pile is a initiated new pile type, the shaft section of which is composed of cement-soil ring and reinforced concrete core. Results of prototype tests have revealed that the new pile type has a series of advantages as compared with common cast-in-situ pile, such as, higher capacity, lower cost, more reliable quality and lighter pollution So it is a new type of pile with bright future Through over 50 field technique tests, the drill tools for forming cement-soil ring have been modified over 20 times, so the main problems of construction equipment and technique of the dry-bored composite pile have been solved The development of this new type pile have been raised, and summarized points for attention in the construction In the bearing mechanism and theory research aspect, through analyzing the date gotten from the instruments installed along the pile shaft, the law of load transfer and the behavior of both skin and base resistance of the composite pile have been known, and compared the piles with common cast-in-situ pile The results of field test have proved that the strength of cement soil have the property of ffect of increasing of airhich influences the load capacity of the composite pile Analytic solution was derived and it was used to analyze factors influenced the load transfer of the composite pile The finite element method of the composite pile was utilized to analyze the failure model of the pile The application of the pile was discussed in the end of the paper...
