Geosynthetics, a new geotechnical material, has been extensively applied to every field of engineering. Some gratifying achievements are obtained in the theoretical studies. In the aspect of the mechanism of filter cloth reinforcement, we all know that, filter cloth being buried in the earth, the stresses of soil mass can be diffused, the modulus of elasticity of soil mass is increased, the tensile stress is transferred, the lateral displacement is restricted, the friction-resistance force between soil mass and other material is increased, the stability of soil mass and relevant structures is raised. Nevertheless, the theoretical studies relatively fall behind the engineering practices. It is necessary to make further studies to the constitutive relationship of filter cloth reinforcement compound. Firstly, the recent advance is reviewed in the dissertation, then the constitutive relationship of filter cloth reinforcement fly-ash compound and computation theories are studied. The main contents are as follows.(1) Filter cloth and the surrounding soil mass are taken as an approximate isotropy in horizontal section, the relationship of stress and strain is studied, the anisotropy is fully considered, the constitutive model of filter cloth reinforcement fly -ash compound is obtained, it is tested with numerous indoor experiments.(2) The permeable coefficient is introduced into the constitutive relationship of soil mass with relevant seepage theory (Kozeny-Carman experience formula).The test of filter cloth depositing hi the condition of long term seepage flow is done hi the dissertation, the varying regular of permeable coefficient without pressure is presented.(3) The displacement field of filter cloth reinforcement fly-ash bank is observed with the apparatus tailing the displacement, it provides powerful evidences proving the theory. Practices prove the method has wild practical prospective in geotechnical model experiments(4) The experiment model of filter cloth reinforcement fly-ash bank is simulated with plane strain Biot's consolidation finite element program. The reinforcement mechanism and deformation of filter cloth reinforcement fly-ash compound are studied. Some useful conclusions are obtained.(5) Finally, the research contents hi the dissertation are summed up, some dissatisfied problems and suggestions concerning the further study are put forward.
