Automatic test and diagnosis system is the important means to make full use of the fighting strength of weapon equipments, and is also one of the major technologies that all over the world study and develop. With the development of high and new technology, the automatization degrees of weapon system improve constantly. For adapting the characteristics of fast renovate and high automatization of weapon equipments, ATS architecture and intelligent fault-diagnosis methods have been the frontal study technologies of this field.This dissertation lucubrates the architecture of ATS, hierarchical structure and resource models of testing software and the physical structure of hardware. The main achievements are as follows: (1) it studies execution mechanism and puts forward a kind of open ATS architecture based on VI testing engine firstly, which realizes hardware-independence and the reuse-ability of testing-code fundamentally; (2) it studies the technologies and methods of ATS instrument interchangeability by using IVI, IVI-MSS and component technology, which establishes the bases of realizing ATS network; (3) it studies and develops the descriptive language of testing flow and the descriptive models of related instruments, the descriptive model of switching matrix and the descriptive models of testing adapters. It realizes the structuring and modularity of testing software, which greatly improves the development and maintenance efficiency of test systems of large-scale complex weapon equipments; (4) it studies the hardware physical structures that are consistent with ATS architecture, which realizes the commonality, openness and expandability of ATS.The dissertation also studies the fault-diagnosis methods of large-scale complex weapon equipments. The main achievements are as follows: (1) aiming at the "bottleneck" problem of knowledge-acquisition, it puts forward a new fault knowledge acquisition method based on simulation technology and machine-learning mechanism based on genetic algorithms, which has settled the problem of automatic acquisition of fault knowledge in the large-scale complex weapon equipments; (2) aiming at the problems that exist in the intelligent fault diagnosis system of weapon equipments, it puts forward the practical exploitation strategy of intelligent diagnosis system of weapon equipments.At last, with the guidance of the previous architecture and intelligent fault-diagnosis methods, it realizes an automatic test and fault-diagnosis system for certain missile equipment, which has been past technical evaluation and put into use in the troops.
