Problems of interaction between structures and foundation have attracted great attention on engineering in latest decades. In fact, the problem of interaction between structures and foundation is a problem of structure and infinite domain. The problem of simulation of infinite region is always met in civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, geotechnical engineering and ocean engineering. With the development of the society and economic technology, large batches of buildings, such as the high arch dams, high structures etc. are emerging. Once these buildings are destroyed, the consequence will not be quite serious. And many problems involve simulation of infinite domain, for example, earth movement of earthquake, dynamical interaction between structures and foundation, static and dynamical responses, dynamical interaction between liquid of infinite domain and structures, interaction between tunnel and wall rock and so on. So that simulation of infinite domain has been very important to civil engineering. In the first chapter of this thesis, the development, actuality and application in engineering of infinite element are introduced, and the present research overview and development trend are sketched, finally the background and main research contents of this thesis are introduced.In the second chapter, the method and theory of mapping infinite element are dissertated in detail. On the basis of making the achievement previously, it was suggested and perfected what the types of the plane unilateral and bi-directional and spatial mapping infinite element. These elements couple with other kinds finite elements easily while being applied. And the infinite element what suggested in this thesis is proved accurate and reliable by analyzing plane and spatial examples and comparing with theory and other methods.In the third chapter, the plane and spatial mapping infinite element of saint and interlayer is suggested and perfected that can couple with all kinds finite and infinite element. These elements can simulate the quite long (infinite) saint in the foundation terrane, limp interlayer or faultages. The simple, economical and reliable method is provided to simulate stress and displacement of the terrane where there are some faultages, saint and limp interlayer in the foundation terrane and simulate the stabilization of foundation of dam and slope stability.In the fourth chapter, the computing technology is presented for nonlinear finite...
