Economy saving and environment protection have become hot issue at home and abroad. The purpose of energy saving can increase the energy usage rate whole processes from exploitation to use. In long view, energy sources of vehicle will be replaced by new energy sources, therefore, there is a great chanellege for vehicle to increase its fuel performance this age.The running conditions of vehicle in city are often brake and startup in low speed, which brings to huge oil exhaustion. It is no doubt that a better fuel consumption and lower emission can be achieved, if energy of brake can be recovered as far as possible and re-use.By analyzing and comparing many possible techniques published in a lot of related literatures and reference home and abroad, hydraulic accumulator is relatively better technique based on the special running condition of the city bus, including fly wheel, hydraulic and battery storage.Secondary regulation of hydrostatic drive is a new hydrostatic transmission technique. It is based on the net of constant pressure and the displacement changed accommodating the variety of the load by changing the obliquity of cam plate in the secondary unit. Yet, energy recovery can be achieved easily by utilizing the four-quadrant characteristic of the secondary unit together with high efficiency and good energy saving feature. If secondary regulation technology is applied to vehicle transmission, it obviously means much to the vehicle energy recovery and reducing environment pollution.On the base of analyzing the running principle of secondary regulation hydrostatic transmission in this paper, a novel vehicle transmission with electronic control and hydraulic driving is presented. Units of the system are analyzed in detail under various vehicle driving conditions. The system's mathematical model of is established based on building and assembling separately components' mathematical models. Though the system model, a series of simulation are carried out focused on the parameters optimization of primary components.Considering the frequent change of city bus running condition, various controlling strategies are employed to control the vehicle drive/brake system. After simulating, the results show fuzzy controller has rapidly responding, less settling time and better controlling precision, and has stronger capability to adopt changes of inner parameters and resist disturbance.
