With the development of the society, the function of our vision is becoming more and more important in our learning and studying .The rate of amblyopia is upgrowing and the amblyopia has become the obstacle of children's healthy growing. The problem of how to detect amblyopia and improve the level of amblyopia treatment has become an important subject in the ophthalmic areas presently. The stereopsis is the advanced phase of binocular vision and the last phase of amblyopia treatment, but the method of detecting stereopsis is qualitative analysis and the method of amblyopia treatment is not convenient today. Also the effect of treatment and the treatment conformance is not obvious. Supported by the National Torch Program research project —"Viston vision function inspecting and treating system(No.2003EB040807)" and Zhejiang Science & Technology Department Program research project—"Intellectualized multi-function inspecting and treating system of amblyopia and strabismus (No.2003C30008)", we studied and developed a new method of detecting stereopsis and treating amblyopia by using computer multimedia technology in the ophthalmic information areas. Children are the major subjects of this system .The principle and key technology of amblyopia inspecting and treating system based on the computer multimedia are proposed and deeply studied after researching the theory of neurophysiology and psychics of amblyopia, vision electrophysiology, stereopsis which has P-VEP extraction technology and so on.The effect of using the method of detecting stereopsis and treating amblyopia has been validated during clinical trials.1. This dissertation proposed the meaning of preventing and treating the amblyopia and advanced the pathogenesis of amblyopia. The domestic and overseas present situation about inspecting and treating amblyopia is summarized, the meaning of studying binocular stereopsis is analyzed. The content and framework of this dissertation are presented based on the background of the studying.2. The theory of inspecting and treating amblyopia is an in-depth study in the dissertation. The dissertation proposed the principle and the key technology of this system considering the computer multimedia technology, CAM method, the character of eyeball movement. The principle and the key technology include CAM-based multimedia treatment method, eyeball movement training, algorithm of moving graphic, velocity of complicated graphic and expert system constructing.3. Analyzing domestic and overseas present situation about the mechanism of stereopsis and inspecting method of stereopsis. a new inspecting and appraising method about stereopsis is proposed by applying the principle of stereopsis and computer technology. The principle of designing the system and the algorithm of separating stereogram into random dot are presented.This new method and the other two methods measuring the acuity of stereoscope method are applied in the clinic trials. Result from the clinic trials indicates that the effect of the three methods is almost the same. But the new method has lots of merit which is more convenient and favorable repetitive, without memory, prompting and simple eye clue and so on.4. Based on P-VEP extraction technology which are phase-shifting and wavelet transform method, the key hardware device and every technology parameter which are demanded in the sub-system of P-VEP threshold analysis system of inspecting and treating amblyopia are designed. A method of analyzing the threshold parameters of amblyopia is presented and the sub-system of P-VEP threshold analysis system of inspecting and treating amblyopia is developed. The well treatment effect is acquired by applying the threshold parameters.5. The amblyopia inspecting and treating system is developed. The structure of this system is designed and the function of every module of amblyopia inspecting and treating system is analyzed in detail based on the theory which is mentioned in the chapter 2, charpter 3 and charpter 4. The amblyopia inspecting and treating system includes amblyopia inspecting system and amblyopia treating system. The result of clinical trials indicates that the effect of this system is good.6. This dissertation summarized the work of studying and key research presenting the direction of researching in the future.
