Digital binoculars are a new kind of digital product, which might serve as binoculars and digital camera at the same time. It can be widely used in many fields such as military department, police, judiciary department, shipping department, sport, journey, etc. Because of its merits, these products are accepted by customer and demand exceeds supply after 2002. Whereas, because it is a new product, there are many technology problems need to be resolved such as optic parameter optimization, image quantity, field of view matching, testing method and standard, quality control, etc. In order to develop competitive and high performance/cost ratio digital binoculars, it is a significative thing that analyzing existing problems of digital binoculars integration, developing technology theme, testing key performance parameter, and researching MTF of image sensor with rectangular mask method. The main research works of paper including:1. Analyzing status quo of digital binoculars at home and abroad, finding existing product's problem, pointing out the creative research's meaning of digital binoculars integration, putting forward many researching key technology and mapping out researching works.2. In order to integrating binoculars and digital camera perfectly, the optic part and digital camera part are analyzed individually in the first place. Based on the analysis, the interrelation is found, and four key factors including image sensor, effective pixels, photosurface dimension and overall structure are certified. The four factors are the base of the technical scheme choosing. Four optional technical schemes were listed.3. In order to develop competitive and high performance/cost ratio digital binoculars, not only product performance but also economic benefit, management need be taken into account. So the themes selecting becomes a multi-target decision-making problem. After theoretical analysis of optimizing and decision-making method, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is adopted, which combined not only qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis but also professional technology and management technology together. The technical schemes are optimized and then, the result is worked out from four optional technical schemes.4.
