The main study methods in PEMFC can be divided into two classes, one is experimental research, and the other is mathematic model research. The aims of this thesis are to develop electrochemical measurement platform and to construct mathematic model based on electrochemical measurements.The electrochemical measurement platform was developed on the determination of corrosion rate of thin metal bipolar plate materials; and the exsitu. electrochemical measurement platform based on thin film electrode was constructed to investigate the cathode and anode catalyst activity; and the in_situ. electrochemical measurement platform on PEMFC single cell is developed. Finally, an analytic PEMFC model based on electrochemical methods was constructed as a simple example for the application of electrochemical techniques.500 h continuous aging test on PBI system high temperature PEMFC was conducted, and it is found that the agglomeration of cathode catalyst was the main reason for the performance degradation in the aging test.
