Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) is a promising power device for electrical vehicles (EV) and distributed power stations due to its advantages, such as high efficiency, no pollution, low temperature operation, quick response.However PEMFC is limited to its disadvantages such as high costs, lifetime.There exists two voltage oscillation areas during the long-term operation of a PEMFC, This paper researches on district A by visualization techniques and EIS.The following experiments are designed to analysis district A.Appropriate channel depth of engraved graphite plate is vital to the assembly of transparent fuel cell,the performance of PEMFC and the shooting effect in the channel of transparent fuel cell. Firstly,we design and assemble four traditional cells with different channel depths.Than we compare these cell performances under different gas humidity and cell temperature,results show:cells with deeper channel depth performance better under low humidity until channel depth reaches certain depth,but performance poorer under high humidity and high current density.temperature makes no sense to PEMFC with different channel depths.in a word,the inlet gas humidity and current density make great importance to PEMFC with different channel depthIn order to confirm the design and assembly of transparent fuel cell,so as to ensure the accuracy of visualization technique.Secondly, we research the performance differences of PEMFCs using visualization techniques.Performance differences among a single cell with a transparent structure in the cathode side, a single cell with a transparent structure in the anode side and a single cell with transparent structures in both the cathode and the anode sides and a traditional single cell are compared under a constant operating condition by testing the polarization curve and EIS. The polarization curve and EIS of these four single cells are further tested and compared under different humilities. The results show that the performance of the traditional single cell is better than the other three transparent single cells and has smaller impedance. The performance of the single cell with a transparent structure in the cathode side is better than that of the single cell with a transparent structure in the anode side. The single cell with transparent structures in both the cathode and the anode sides shows the poorest performances.In the end,District A——the stable oscillation area during the long-term operation of a PEMFC is analyzed by visualization experiments under different operation parameters based on above research,such as:current density,cell temperature,inlet gas humidity,gas utilization.results show:we could stabilize the voltage oscillations by improving cell temperature,reducing the gas utilization,lowing the gas humidity and reducing the current density.also we can reduce the frequency though improving cell temperature,reducing gas utilization and increasing gas humidity...
