To meet the development demand of highrise building and building build in soft clay area, piled raft foundation and piled box foundation have gotten extensive development and application. But at present the piled raft foundation and the piled box foundation designed with pile-soil interaction are mainly used that case of the capacity of foundation can satisfy building load requirement but the settlement do not satisfy building requirement. The study on pile-soil interaction that the capacity of foundation can't satisfy building load requirement that locate in soft clay area is not enough.By collecting information, model test and theory analysis, this paper sum up and summarize the engineering properties of soft clay, study the interaction between piles and soil, loading share between piles and cap, load transfer law between piles and soil, soil settlement property, deform law of soil. Basing on this, we discuss the project practice of buildings build in soft clay area.Soft clay is the clay which shear strength is not larger than 50kPa, Soft clay have properties of high water content, high void ratio, low shear strength, high compressibility, low permeability and high sensitivity. The above properties of soft clay are due to pellet size and mineral composition which composite the soft clay, and related closely to the unique microstructure of soft clay. The macroscopic engineering properties of soft clay are it's structure characteristics and elastoplasts.The model test result of cap, pile, pile-cap, two-pile-cap and piles-cap in soft clay show that the cap can increase the capacity of foundation. The Cap undertakes the load at first. Because the soil must bear the load transfer from pile and cap, when the add stress on the surface of soil is equal, the settlement of piles-cap is larger. But it's p-s curve is gently, which indict that destroy of piles-cap is not so violent as cap.Because the cap restricts the displacement between pile and soil, the pile side friction resistance starts at the middle and the bottom area of...
