In recent years, with the fast development of economic construction of China and the rapid impelling of urbanization process, as well as the situation of great population and lack of the effective farmland, people in many cities realize that the existed city land could not meet the needs of the city construction, therefore, in the process of expanding the scale of city land, people have to make full use of the mountain slopes which are concerned unsuitable for construction in the past. However, in the course of mountain land development, because of the limitation of hillside geological condition and the demand of environmental protection, land concerned with hillside engineering has been limited strictly by the red line of engineering expropriation, what's more, angles of city man-made slopes usually are steep. Therefore, the high steep man-made slopes appear in new construction. Due to the situation of population concentration in city, the stability of slope is closely related to the life and property of people. With the constant growth of construction scale, man-made rock slopes become higher and higher, and the problems of stability become increasingly outstanding. The development of city high slopes faces the problems of potential safety hazards, thus studying the stability evaluation and optimum design of city high slope, in order to make a permanent slope satisfied with the age limit of design, has become the important research topic in geotechnical engineering.Just in the situation of severe city land-using background, the problems of high slope of Linyu Villa in Guangzhou Science Town were studied. The Villa is located in the northwest of the Science Town of Guangzhou High-technology Industries Development area, and it belongs to Guangzhou...
