The kernel of the product design is to innovate products and satisfy the requirements of the customers. How to produce the new products which quickly respond to the market in the shortest time, have high quality and have proper price has become the focus of the manufacturing enterprise competition in the 21st century. Because the restrictions to the designers are relatively less and there are more innovative spaces in the process of the product conceptual design, paying much attention to the product conceptual design is the basic approach to put the products into the market. This dissertation emphasizes on the research on the dynamic holographic product conceptual design model and the key technology based on the idea of the whole life cycle, and studies and constructs a framework of the dynamic holographic product conceptual design system, and develops a prototype system of the product conceptual design of the machine tool based on data mining (DMCACD), and sustains the processes of the product innovating designs.The main points of this dissertation are as follows:1. On the basis of analyzing the research results of the theories and the methods of the product design and the product conceptual design modeling, establishing a uniform product life cycle model is proposed,and the systematic structure of the product design in the whole life cycle based on the concurrent engineering are researched and constructed in the view of the engineering design of the product life cycle, and the dynamic modeling of the process of the product design in the whole life cycle are also researched and analyzed.2. The systematic structure of the product conceptual design in the whole life cycle are researched and constructed, and the key technologies are analyzed and proposed, and the conception of the holographic model of the product conceptual design is also proposed and studied. The environmental factors are fully considered in the model. The main features of the model are the interaction of the product views and its'application circumstances, whose result is to form the regular pattern evolved in some application conditions (or in some phase of its'life cycle). The dynamic holographic model of the product conceptual design is described and expresseed in detail, and its'framework of the systematic structure is also provided and researched.3. An systematic structure of data warehouse focused on the holographic product conceptual design is researched and constructed, and the corresponding resources library and knowledge base are constructed, and its'datas organizations and knowledge expression are also investigated for storing and reasoning datas and knowledge in the process of the product conceptual design.4. The processes of applying the data mining technology to the holographic modeling of the product conceptual design are firstly researched and proposed in the dissertation, which will validate the activities of the product innovative design. On the basis of analyzing the data mining technology in detail, the systematic structure of the data mining system applied to the holographic product conceptual design is constructed, and the corresponding data mining algorithms and models are studied and constructed, and the data mining tools based on the knowledge are also developed to support the processes of the product conceptual design.5. Based on the every investigations above, the prototype system of the product conceptual design of the machine tool based on data mining are designed and developed (DMCACD). The framework, function models and working processes of the system are described in detail, and a case of machine tool's designing processes was used to validate the probability of the system.
