For the design of large-sized turbo expanders, it is difficult to adopt new info-tools and info-technology as quickly as universal machine can. At the meantime, the enterprises face the puzzle that they can not take much research achievement and work experience directly into the design. As the limits of the study, the article focuses on the structure design method for turbo expander's structure. It adopt the ways of using knowledge tools, database technology, management technology and NX software to proceed the study of knowledge-based turbo-expander design system. The system is controlled by a overall information management mode. Knowledge rules are fiised into the design and new process are formed. The article includes the below All the sections: General Knowledgebase SystemThe general knowledgebase system(GKBS) is information, processing, management and memory system, which face the solution of artificial intelligence problem. With the concept of it, the database which is on behalf of the standard data, the regular storehouse which is on behalf of regular, the example vault which is on behalf of example are combined together, the knowledge base has been set on a broad sense concept. This article carried the research on the knowledge representation, knowledge inference mechanism in the design of turbine expander which based on KBE. It also establish the corresponding management mode, inference mode, and model system, design instance and generalize knowledge base has been directly associated. With the incompact connecting mode by direct-browse and quick search strategy, and with the tightness connection mode of the inside-relations between the other modules, the GKB can supply a direct support to the design. It also establishes the relevant index workflow of searching the knowledge base and the instance database. The research of different inference modes for the generalize knowledge base is applied in the following chapter. Knowledge Fusion TechnologyWith the using of Knowledge Fusion Technology (KF) of NX, it implement the application of KF in the product design, and study the combination of KF and consequence, the combination of KF and NX/API, the combination of KF and CAE technology, and KF modeling, etc. According to the application method of KF in the design, some modules are programmed. According to the KF application ways for component analysis, it completes the principal shaft critical speed calculation tools, which directly fuse the finite element analysis technology into the rotor system design. Considering the limit of KF in the non-ruled design, it creates new ways of combining KF and fuzzy inference together, which expand the application range of KF knowledge. System's Information ManagementThe information management of design system is the key of guaranteeing the high-efficient of overall system. Considering form the research object and goal practice, this paper quotes the thought and several contents of product data management, does some research and development of the knowledge management inside the design process and the flow management, develop the application module of the relax structure ,such as product coding, document management, document browse, work approval, BOM management. Surrounding with the product-based design process, the inter-communication of management system and NX system, management system and general knowledgebase, the article established a comprehensive management system, it established a comprehensive management frame based on a overall management during the design process. For this, it work on the study of design project, information interchange, security, etc.
