With the development of modern science and technology, composite materials are being used more extensively. To meet different needs in function and load bearing in building structural works, it will be an inevitable development direction to form composite load-bearing structural members or systems according to the features of materials.In this paper a new type composite structural system is stated. A load-bearing structural wall will be made of two or more layers of concrete and other materials. According to the functional requirements of buildings, polyphenyl or other thermal insulating materials can be added to the concrete for walls to form load-bearing thermal insulating walls; or sandwich masonry can be used to form various load-bearing composite walls.To solve the problem of brick-making leading to the ruination of farmland, a problem which is plaguing our country for many years, an integrated load- bearing composite concrete wall is adopted. This type of wall is made of two layers of RC and sandwiched with polyphenyl boards so that it has a good thermal insulation performance and has been used successively for multi- story and mini-high-rise residential buildings.The composite lattice grid, a reinforcement skeleton of a composite wall, is made of two layers of welded reinforcement mat and diagonal bars by welding to form a spatial grid structure, sandwiched with polyphenyl boards for good thermal insulation. This type of spatial reinforcement skeleton and the boundary members of concrete allow carrying of combined stress.In this paper characteristics and theory for calculation of stresses of the composite structure of wall is studied. Subsequent to testing of this structure, a stress analysis of the same was also carried out. Then an in-depth study was performed on both design and construction.It is indicated that the new type composite structure of wall costs less; it can not onlybe used in residential buildings, but also in blast-resistant structures, having solved the problem of cracking in mass concrete; with sectional steel being used together with boundary members in concrete to share stress, the level of difficulty in construction will be lowered, the weight of structure be reduced, and the building structural reliability raised.
