Generation adequacy is an important condition to make sure of the security and stability of the power system operation, and also it is the precondition to ensure the success of power market deregulation. This thesis presented a series of method and mechanism to regulate the generation adequacy in the market circumstance, considering some factors which affected the generation adequacy emerged during the process of market reformation.Generation investment planning is an important factor which influenced the long term generation adequacy. By introducing the theory and method of system dynamics into generation investment planning, this thesis mapped the generation investment planning market into a dynamic responding physical system, and established the dynamic equations to reflect the system state transferring characteristic. By solving these equations it could get the changing rule of generation investment planning under the variable changing trend of the influenced factors, master the developing trend of generation investment planning, analyze and control the generation investment planning ahead of schedule.Unit maintenance decreased the generator capacity which influenced the generation adequacy greatly. Aiming at the factitious lack of generator capacity with the reason of unit maintenance, this thesis presented the concept of"maintenance right"and designed the corresponding trade mechanism. By establishing unit maintenance market, it could manage the unit maintenance, collocate the rare unit maintenance resource with market measure, and realized the harmony and uniform of the dispersive decision and centralized optimization.Generator fuel adequacy is an important premise to insure the complete generator capacity. Aiming at the deficiency of generator capacity caused by shortness of"electricity coal", this paper brought forward a real options trade mode of fuel trade by using the concept of financial option for reference. Under this mode, it established a guarantee mechanism of generator fuel, which offered an effective way for the generator company to evade the risk of the fluctuation of electricity price and coal price. With this mechanism, it could ensure the fuel adequacy and then made sure of the adequacy of generator capacity.The fuel real option trade mode could ensure the abundance fuel supply. On the basis of it, this paper established the random expectation optimal model of fuel distribution considering the uncertainty of the electricity selling price and the selling quantity for the generator corporation which took part in several competed markets (or different price zones in the same market).To solve this complicated problem, this thesis presented a hybrid method which combined random simulation, nerve network and genetic algorithm. Also, this model could be developed to deal with the fuel distribution considering the other uncertainty of the market for the generator corporation.
