Electric energy is the broadest used energy in modern society, and its quality problems are paid great attention to by customers. This paper begins with an in-depth analysis of power quality problems, followed by an overall theoretical and expeimental study on the power quality (PQ) monitring and control using wavelet theory, agent technology and digital signal processing technique. Then some simulations are performed to validate the built system. In view of the developing trends for PQ monitoring and the existing questions and demands for PQ collaborative control, proposed an open, active system architecture for long-distance PQ monitoring and control based on the multi-agent technology. The open, active and flexible characteristics of the architecture satisfy the structure requirement of the distributed power network. It meets the demands for electric power market, and the needs for PQ monitoring and control system.According to the characteristics of the steady indexes and transient indexes of PQ and the spot requirement, a hybrid algorighm combining fast Fourier transform (FFT) and wavelet transform is proposed for PQ_agent detection. By this method, the information about cyclical disturbance signals is obtained through FFT, and the information about instantaneous disturbance signals is obtained through small scales decomposition of wavelet transform. The accurately detected disturbance information can reflect the PQ status of the system effectively, and on-line PQ monitoring is relized. Moreover, on the basis of analyzing the characteristics, objectives and functions of PQ information sharing in a long-distance PQ monitoring and control isomeric environment, multi-agent information sharing model and its implementation framework are established, which meet the requirements of tele PQ monitoring. The concept of "data wrapper" is provided to build a heterogeneous data resources integration model, which can accommodate to the heterogeneous, disperse, autonomous data sources. Then the information access mode and flow are discussed based on the model, and the data integration strategy, the model...
