Reality problems: City revitalization is a popular theme regarding citydevelopment nowadays in China. It is a must to regenerate the cities which haveexperienced so much in the history, with low quality construction, bad livingenvironment, and unenlightened basic facility. Especially with the accumulating ofthe population density, there are more and more city problems being exposed.However, most of the current city development are only unilateral modernization, cutting off historic context and destroying local tradition. Those historic heritage aredisappearing in one night. Many famous historic cities are facing the sameproblem: without characteristics. The value of the city is decreasing because of theshortage of no replaceable culture. Although the importance of the historic heritagehas been realized, the potential economic value is not taken used as reasonable andeffective as they can. To dismantle or to protect is still a fighting which can not beended only because of the economy element.Reasonable mode: the destroy to the historic districts and streets will be verygreat if without a correct and long term revitalization strategy, with fast city economydevelopment, information exchanging and updating rate. City source is art anddevelopment demanding. Cities are developing based on people's demanding on lifeand culture evolvement. The correct method of revitalization of the historic blocksshould base on the deep understanding and appropriate protection of the cities'historic characteristics, to do research on the reasonable and feasible mode of them.Guided by this principal, cities can develop step by step, with their context kept to becontinued and the characteristic of variety to be protected. Just like what Kalvenosaid: whatsoever, the extra charm of a metropolis is to review its past history throughits changing.Marketing viewpoint: As a part of the multi-value of the historic heritage, economy has only been over emphasized and is put in an embarrass situation. Thepurpose of this article will focus on doing research on this problem by studying thehistoric block in the cities, to defend in the economic value field and to solve the economic problem of the historic heritage by economic theory. This article willanalysis and marketing the historic blocks as a city capital. And try to re-activate thehistoric blocks to improve their remaining value. To deep into all the value amongthem, to show their charm, and to have people understand the tradition in a clear andcorrect way so that to achieve the aim that to reduce the disregard of the developmentof the traditional cities and to establish a value foundation for the long termdevelopment of historic city blocks.
