Taking the three-phase bridge static frequency converter (SFC) system as the research object, assimilating the novel developments and engineering applications in the recent years, this paper deals with the start of the SFC system and the pumped-storage power station.The system is composed of AC-DC-AC current converter, synchronous motor, rotor position detector and control circuit. The system has the advantages of both the DC motor speed regulation function and the synchronous motor simple maintenance. So it is broadly used in air compressor, water pump, paper making, exaltation, mill, pumped-storage power station and other speed regulation occasions. The main contents in the paper are showed in the following paragraph.(1) Combined with the large-capacity SFC system , the converter control method of the constant margin-angle is analyzed. And the unstable problem is solved by using the paper method. The reliability of the control method is proved by engineering application.(2) The calculation method of each part of SFC system is proposed, which is mostly includes the main circuit parameter, start time, calculation of main circuit equal-voltage parameter and so on. It provides better basic and reference platform for other applications.(3) The experiment circuit of high voltage SFC system thyristor-valve is designed, and the load on the thyristor-valve is revealed correctly. Its application apparently reduces the equipment capacity which is needed when the experiment working, and proved to be good test equivalence by engineering applications.(4) The basic principle and automatic control system of Xianghongdian pumped-storage power station is introduced, then the system regulation problems are analyzed .(5) A harmonic current and voltage calculation method, and the branch of passive filter are proposed, and the simulation of limited harmonic is analyzed.(6) Associate with the fact that the pumped-storage power station of Panjako will be reformed, the starting is simulated.
