Study On The Optimization Of Spatial Structure Of Wuhan Urban Agglomerations

Since the occurrence of the urban agglomerations in 1950s, urban agglomeration areas have gradually been the pioneers of the regional economic developmet. Many scholars, decision-makers from the government home and abroad have attached a great importanc to the urban agglomerations related theories. Spatial structure reflects the development degree, state and process of urban agglomerations, and its optimization urges the function promotion of the areas. Therefore, the study on the spatial structure issues of Wuhan urban agglomerations will greatly promote the urbanization process of the cities and contribute to the sustainable development of economy in Wuhan urban agglomerations district and Hubei province.Based on the comparision analysis of main urban agglomerations in China, this thesis systematically studies Wuhan urban agglomerations with quantitative and qualitative methods, and analizes its characteristics and influencing factors.Using the cluster analysis method and multi-core model, the thesis puts forward the optimization target,optimization mode ,and the detailed suggestions and measures.This thesis is maily composed of seven parts.Firstly, the study discusses the related basic theory and the technical method of the urban agglomerations'spatial structure and its'opitimazation.Secondly, the thesis innovatively introduces the"spatial structure"affectoi into the urban agglomerations competiveness evaluation index system and compares the main urban agglomerations in China, based on the principal component analysis method. The result shows that the competiveness of Wuhan urban agglomeration is relatively weaker, and the spatial structure factor plays an important role.Thirdly, with historical analysis method, the thesis studies on the historical evaluation process of Wuhan urban agglomerations'spatial stuctue and divides the history into several periods.Based on it, the study summarizes the evaluation principle and the characteristics that the Wuhan uraban agglomerations has ,which represents the urban agglomerations in Middle China.Fourthly, the thesis systematically investigates Wuhan urban agglomerations'spatial structure from the aspects of population,economy,urbanization and the relations between the cities , and deems"monocentiric polarization structure and weak relationship between cities"as the charateristics of Wuhan urban agglomerations'spatial structure. The research explains the causes from the aspects of industry,transportation establishment,strategy merchanism and the natural condition, and brings forward that, to some extends , the spatial structure factor has influenced the sustainable development of Wuhan urban agglomeration negatively .Fifthly, based on the analysis of the new regionalism theory, the thesis discusses the optimization model of Wuhan urban agglomerations'spatial structure, and proposes the network cities system model to optimize the spatial structure, and consequently promotes the sustainable development.Sixthly, the thesis choses the node cities through the method of cluster analysis, and evaluates the the cities'performance in the population and economy convergency through the muti-core exponent model. Base on the work above, the thesis comes up with the construction and governance mode of Wuhan urban agglomeration network cities system.Finally, based on the work above, the thesis dicusses the policy suggestions and the detailed measures of the optimization of Wuhan urban agglomerations'spatial structure .
