At present, the drainage retractor of the washing machine on the market has complex structure. It always works using an electromagnetic relay with complex production technics and high probability of fault .The new drainage retractor containing a composite claw pole motor avoids the problem above successfully. The composite claw pole motor has novel structure. It has a significant difference compared with traditional electrical machine in operation theory & performance analysis. The relevant research on this kind of motor is lack at home and abroad. The research of this paper is carried out around the magnetic field analysis of the composite claw pole motor, and three-dimensional finite element is used to analyze the magnetic field. The main work of this paper includes the following sections:First of all, the structure of the composite claw pole motor is described detailedly, and the function of every components of the motor are analyzed also. The three-dimensional finite element model of the motor is established in Maxwell 3D according to the structure of the composite claw pole motor. Then, the three-dimensional static magnetic field analysis based on the finite element model of the motor is carried out. The cogging torque of the composite claw pole motor is obtained, and the effect of air-gap on the cogging torque is analyzed. The starting torque responding different current is calculated in order to analyze the characteristic of the starting torque. Meanwhile, the magnetic flux density of various parts on the composite claw pole motor while the electric current is 200 ampere are get also. Finally, the analysis on three-dimensional transient field is carried out, the magnetic flux density distribution of the motor at two different moments is gained, and the air-gap magnetic flux density distribution along the radial orientation from post processing is obtained. Furthermore, the two different air-gap magnetic flux densities are analyzed and compared. The two different torques resulted by the eddy current corresponding two different copper ring are obtained and compared. The result of the electromagnetic computing provides the basis for parameter optimization of the composite claw pole motor.
