This study is concerned about the data from three representative provenance trials with 8 provenances of Picea Koraiensis. The growth characteristics, wood properties, plant hormone, nitrate reductase and soluble protein concentration, as well as RAPD diversity among the provenances, by using population genetic principle, have been firstly detected and studied in order to make clear the genetic variation, genetic correlation and their structure of this species. The main results are as follows:1.There is significant variation among the provenance growth, and these variations have shown some geographic adaptability. The provenance growth in Maoershan and Liangshui Trials in ten years old changes along with longitude in some degree, but it expresses strong correlation with latitude and altitude along increasing of the trial's age. The strong interaction between provenance and trial has been seen. By the testing of genetic stability, it indicates that Chaihe, Tianqiaoling, Jinshantun and Wuyiling are the provenances with high yield and genetic stability, Muling is a non-stable provenance with mean productivity, Aihui, Gaofeng and Huanan are the lowest ones in both of stability and growth. Besides, it is firstly reported that there has been great positive correlation among the growth characteristics of the provenances since 4 years old.2. The growth and wood characteristics of the provenance in 18 years old are measured according to the materials from Maoershan and Liangshui Trials. The results show that it exists significant variation among the provenance growth and some wood characteristics, such as length and width tracheid , tracheid wall thickness , annual ring and wood density. There are correlations between growth and wood characteristics, as well as correlations among wood characteristics in a certain extent, which provide theoretical basis for comprehensive selection of this species in pulpwood. Chaihe , Jinshantun and Wuyiling provenances are decided as good pulpwood provenances primarily on what has been achieved above.3. It is the first time to report that it has big difference in the content of nitrate reductase, soluble protein and plant growth among the provenances. Also, a strong positive correlation between the growth characteristics and nitrate reductase activity as well as soluble protein content has be displayed, that means the provenance with higher nitrate reductase activity has better growing potential and more protein accumulation, which is very important in early selection of the provenances for this species.4. In growing period, all provenances show higher IAA content than that in dormancy, and also higher ABA in concentration can be seen in dormancy period than in growing period. Meanwhile, significant variation among the provenances in both of IAA and ABA content is existed. In growing season, there is no big difference in ABA content among the provenances no matter what is the best or worst in growth, but not for IAA and GA. Wuyiling provenance with better growth has higher IAA and GA content in longer time. Huanan provenance with worse growth has lower IAA and GA content in shorter time.5. It has higher genetic variation among the provenances detected by RAPD marker. 171 loci have been gotten from 80 samples using 12 RAPD primers, in which 126polymorphic loci can be seen. Proportion of the total polymorphic loci has been reached 73.68%. There are some changes in proportion of polymorphic loci among eight provenances, which is from 35.09% to 45.03%. Also. Shannon's Information Index and Nei's Gene Diversity Index are used to estimate genetic diversity for the provenances of Picea Koraiesis, and there are almost the same varying trends for these two index among the provenances, they are Huanan, Wuyiling, Chaihe, Muling, Tianqiaoling, Aihui, Gaofeng and Jinshantun from low to high in turn. It also shows that there is close relationship for different provenances because the mean genetic identity among the provenances is 0.8622, varying from 0.8046 to 0.9237. On the basis...
