This paper investigated the performance of important economic traits in Inner Mongolia cashmere goat , and used multiple trait animal model best linear unbiased prediction (BLUP), derivative free restricted maximum likelihood (DFREML) to select different models and to estimate genetic parameters for several traits of Albas type of Inner Mongolia cashmere goats, Traits included in this paper were cashmere yield (CY), cashmere thickness(CT), staple length(SL), body weight(BW), cashmere stretched length(CSL), cashmere fineness(CF), birth weight (BWT), weaning litter weight (WLWT), average daily gain (ADG), yearling weight (YW). The results showed:1. Birth or trait expression years, age or age of dam and herd had significant effect on almost all traits.Sex had no effect on cashmere finess, but had significant effect on other traits.Birth type had no effect on cashmere trait, but had significant effect on these early growing traits:birth weight, weaning litter weight, average daily gain.we found that model â…¢ was fit to estimate cashmere trait, modelâ…£ was fit to estimate birth weight and weaning litter weight, modelâ…¢ was fit to estimate average daily gain, model I was fit to estimate yearling weight.2. Heritabilities for CY, CT, SL and BW is 0.3,0.21, ,0.31,0.11,0.21,0.28, Heritabilities for BWT, WLWT, ADG and YW were 0.21, 0.11, 0.14 and 0.17. Genetic correlations between CY and CT, between CT and SL , between SL and CT and between CSL and SL is 0.33, 0.51, 0.38 and 0.74 respectively, and they belonged to high positive one; Genetic correlations between CY and SL, between CY and BW, between CT and BW, between CF and CT, between CF and CY and between CF and BW is 0.11, 0.06, 0.15, 0.08, 0.24 and 0.13 respectively, and they belonged to low positive correlation; Genetic correlations between SL and BW, between SL and CY, between SL and BW, between SL and CF and between CF and SL is -0.14, -0.15, -0.18, -0.31 and-0.28 respectively, and they belonged to low negative correlations. Repeatabilities for CY, CT, SL and BW were 0.42, 0.27, 0.59 and 0.18, respectively.3. There was a large difference between weaning weight selection and TBV selection of male lamb. The difference between phenotypic selection and TBV selection of gimmer hogg reached a significant level. The difference between phenotypic selection and TBV selection of ram hogg reached a significant level. Rank correlation between body weight selection and bodyweight EBV selection and that between cashmere yield selection and cashmere yield EBV selection were not significant.4. Genetic progress for cashmere yield showed rising trend and for bodyweight showed smooth and the precision of individual phenotypic selection was low and animal model BLUP was suitable to select Inner Mongolia cashmere goats. At last, this study gave a series of methods of selecting sires based on objective reality. The genetic progress for cashmere yield and bodyweight by selecting on BLUP breeding value had increased as 16.6% and 200.8% respectively as original.5. Random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) analysis was used to estimate genetic diversityand relationship in 6 DNA pools which belong to three Inner Mongolia cashmere goat breeds, 12 primers were used, among which 8 generated polymorphic bands.32RAPD markers were marked,of which 21 were polymorphic marker. The genetic distance matrix was obtained by proportion of shared fragments. Dendrogram was generated by UPGMA. The results indicated that Inner Mongolia cashmere goat strains' phylogenetic relations were close; Inner Mongolia cashmere goat and Hanshan were clustered together; Liaoning cashmere goat was closely related to Wuzhumuqin.6. We construct the cDNA library with skin in October and choose some clones randomly to gain sequences with M13(+) prime and get 365 ESTs. Compared with Genebank database, the similarity of 41 ESTs among them to sheep KAP6-1 is more than 95%. Further analysis we find that 41 full length cDNA of KAP6-1 can be classified 6 different sequences. A sequence is sam...
