Studies On Shade Tolerance And Application Of Some Main Plant Species Used In Beijing

The Species of shaded — tolerance is one of the important factors in the building mixed plantation artificial population, but the selecting of the shaded — tolerance plants is a main problem,which is troubling the application of plant landscape design , also. In this dissertation, photosynthesis property (light response curve, CO₂ response curve), leaf structure and pigment content of 81 plant species of the main plant species used in Beijing (concluding 17 tree species, 36 shrub species, 22 herb species and 7 climbing plant species) are presented. Also, the application of the shaded — tolerance plants in mixed plantation artificial population has been discussed in detail.1. On the basis of analysing the relationship between leaf structure, pigment content, the ability of using CO₂ and shade tolerance of trees, shrubs,climbing plants, and herb species,the main factors of influencing shade tolerance in 4 kinds of plant species are analysed comprehensively. Shade tolerance of plant is a compound character. The main factors influencing it are different in different kinds of plant species, and it is not scientific to acknowledge plant shade torence by a single factor.2. The classification about the ability of light utilization of main landscape plant species in Beijing is presented. Also, the plants,which are adapting for varied light situation, have been selected and recommended.3. From shade tolerance and ecophysiological properties of plants,and acording to the special location and situation of mixed plantation artificial population,mixed plantation artificial population is classified into three kinds,which are "Forest —Scene" Kind," Forest —Ecology" Kind and "Forest —Economy"Kind. Also, 16 models of vertical structure of mixed plantation artificial population are designed. \;4. The suggestion of recon-structure of the Beijing mixed plantation artificial population has been put forward. And the mixed plantation artificial population of JinZhan Country located in Chao Yang District has been reconstructured, and two models about 3. 5ha have been built.Summarizing all the results above,the author proposes;the real shaded —tolerance species in tree are quite a fewer, other wise, there are a large number of shaded — tolerance species in shrub, climbing plant and herb. To seek shaded — tolerance species and use them scientifically has important significance in enriching plant species, increasing vertical scene and quickening the speed of the building of "Urban Forest"in Beijing.
