| Undergoing clinical trials, urolithiasis in Chinese Local goats and Boer goats was successfully caused by feeding high level cotton seed meals diets. Based on these facts, The analysis of composition of urinary sedimentary and stones had been studied by chemical qualitative analysis, scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction, X-ray energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. A new biochemical urolith rich in potassium: potassium magnesium phosphate hydrate was found. The pathogenesis of new biochemical urolith was discussed. Adding 4% sodium chloride to the diets, no calculi were found in treatment groups. It is suggested that sodium chloride prevented calculus formation by increasing water intake and urine volume, and decreasing the level of serum aldosterone which reduced damage of urinary system, the chance of urinary sediments deposits. In the same time, investigation of urolithiasis in other animals (canine, feline, pig) of field cases was conducted. The composition of urolith samples obtained from some clinics were analyzed. These results provided theoretical basis for controlling and preventing urolithiasis for clinical veterinary.Test â… Evaluation of combined Helical CT, B-mode ultrasonogram and X-ray analysis of uroliths caused by feeding high level cotton seed meals diets in goats.Sixteen health Chinese local male goats aged from 6-8 months were randomly allotted to four groups, as control group â… (uncastrated goats, n=3), control group â…¡ (castrated goats, n=3), experimental group â… (uncastrated goats, n=5), experimental group â…¡ (castrated goats, n=5) .In the whole experiment period, corn-soybean diet and peanut beanstalk was fed to the goats in control groups, cotton seed meal and rice straw was fed to the goats in experimental groups. At same time, Sixteen boer male goats aged from 3-4 months were allotted to four groups with the same designs and treatment as... |
