1 Studies on the Constituents and Bioactivities of Fructus choerospondiatis Fructus choerospondiatis are the dried fruits of choerospondias axillaris (Roxb) Burrt et Hill Tibetan doctors had used it in the treatment for disorder of the heart, such as palpitation irritability and pain in heart region According to China Pharmacopoeia (2000), it tastes sweet, sour and mild It can promote flow of qi and blood circulation; nourish the heart and calme the mind It is used for the treatment of stagnacy of qi and blood stasis, pain due to obstruction of qi in the chest, palpitation with shortness of breath, irritability, etc. The result of screening test for the effect of anti-myocardial ischemic activity showed that the extract have good activity. This doctoral dissertation deals with the studies on the chemical constituents and biological activities of fructus choerospondiatis. To investigate the chemical constituents of the dried fructus choerospondiatis, phytochemical experiment was carried out using column chromatograph techniques. 24 compounds have been isolated from the alcohol extract, of which 15 structures have been identified as: [Organic acids]: citric acid (1), 2-hydroxy-1,2,3-propane tricarboxylic acid-2-methyl ester (3) , 2-hydroxy-1,2,3-propane tricarboxylic acid-2-ethyl ester (4), gallic acid (5), salicylic acid (6), protocatechuic acid(7), palmic acid(13) and stearic acid(24). [Flavones]: quercetin(8), kaemferol(10), hyperin(11) and (+)-catechin(9); [Sterol and steroline]:β-sitosterol(21) and Daucoerol(23). [Other constituents]: bis-(2-ethyihexyl)-phthalate(19) . The rest compounds continue to be identified. Among these fifteen compounds, 3,4,11,13,19 and 24 were isolated from fructus choerospondiatis for the first time. On the base of the results of screening test for the effect of anti-myocardial ischemia activity, the studies on pharmacodynamics and pharmacological action mechamism of protecting the acute experimental myocardial ischemia of the active part in fructus choerospindiatis were carried out. The results indicated that fructus choerospondiatis could improve the ECG's change and reduce the infarct size in the myocardial ischemia rats. The mechanism of action is related to regulate the balance of kinds of enzyme activity, and inhibit the occurrence of cell apoptosis. The results will be the base of further studies on chemical constituents, biological activities, pharmacy-material, the quality standards of plant drug and its preparation, the clinic prescription and the development of fructus choerospondiatis.
