Objective:To study the relationship between iodine nutrition status and AITD. Methods: The thyroid function,TGAb and TPOAb of control (CON),GD and HT patients were measured by chemiluminescence, the serum TNF-a,IL-1? were measured by radioimmunoassay, the expression of CD54 and HLA-DR on PBMC were determined by immunohisto- chemical methods, and expression of CD80 were detected by flow cytometry. Urine iodine(UI) were measured by spectrophotometer at different time. The clinical symptoms of all subjects were observed too. Results: The mean UI in Chongqing district were higher than proper iodide (PI) standard defined by international Council for control of iodine deficiency disorders(ICCIDD),and the UI in HT groups were significantly increased compared with Con(P<0.05). The thyrocele and ophthalmopathy in AITD became more and severer accompanying UI increasing, the rate of goiter and endocrine ophthalmopathy in high iodide(HI) AITD was significantly higher than PI AITD( P<0.05).In the meantime, the positive percentage of TGAb and TPOAb also increased evidently in HI compared with PI(P<0.05).Cytokine IL-1? and expression of CD54,CD80 and HLA-DR in HI group were higher than other groups(P<0.05), TNF-a in HI was higher than PI and exceeding proper iodide(EI) group too (P<0.05). Multiple linear regression indicate that the case duration and thyroid function were not correlated with UI in GD and HT patients, but the IL-1 ?,CD80 in HT and IL-1 ?,CD80,HLA-DR in GD were closely correlated with UI.Conclusion: The iodine nutrition exceed proper iodine intake standard in Chongqing district. High iodide intake may aggravate patient's clinical symptoms such as thyrocele and ophthalmopathy, but there is no relation between level of UI and thyroid function .Improper iodine supplement to AITD patients may strengthen the immune function disorder .The abnormal increase of cytokine IL-1? and expression of CD80, HLA-DR on PBMC may involve in the mechanism.
