Objective: The paper purposed to investigate the therapeutic effect and mechanism of hypertonic sodium chloride hydroxyethyl starch-40 injection(HSH)on cryogenic brain injury with/without hemorrhagic shock. Methods: The paper established and deployed cryogenic brain injury rats model with/without hemorrhagic shock to study the therapeutic action and the effect of HSH on cytokine and apoptosis of nerve cells. Results: HSH could decrease intracranial pressure (ICP) post cryogenic brain injury. Lesser liquid could resuscitate cryogenic brain injury complicated shock rats and keep the ICP at a lower lever. HSH could inhibit pathological raise of TNF—α, IL— 1β and IL — 6 after cryogenic brain injury with/without hemorrhagic shock, reduce the expression of caspase-3, relieve the apoptosis of nerve cells. Conclusion: HSH has the therapeutic effect on cryogenic brain injury with/without hemorrhagic shock. The therapeutic mechanism partly is that HSH inhibits the expression of cytokine and relieve the apoptosis of nerve cells.
