The "theory of Zang and Orifice" , an essential branch of the theory of ZangXian is an academic viewpoint and proposition posed by the author comprehensively and systemically, which aims to elucidate the correlation between Zangfu inside and orifices outside the body. This thesis focuses on the portions in the theory related with the eye, holding that the theory of Zang and Orifice is established on the basis of the combined theories of Internal Canon, Yinyang and Five elements, combine clinical practice by means of "analogy and classification", and that it may serve as an important theoretical basis in diagnosis and treatment. There is no doubt that the intraocular contents are the vitals in generating visual activities, and as times goes on, intraocular diseases (Nei zhang) have become the very factors which most frequently induce blindness-producing and intractable damage. Unfortunately, information concerning inner eye has been seldom discussed due to the limited ophthalmic workup in ancient, which makes a frustrating situation clinically as far as the theory is concerned.To satisfy clinical demands, the relationship between structures and functions have been investigated based on the changes of color and figuration of intraocular contents in normality in the light of the theory of Zang and Orifice. Then the hypothesis about the relationship between Zang and intraocular contents is proposed that aqueous humor (Shenshui) should be dominated by the liver, retinal vessel (Shiyiluo) the heart, liver and spleen together, and the retinal is supposed to correspond to the heart, liver, spleen and...
