Thrombolysis and neuro-protection are the two intervention strategy for the treatment of ICVD. Thrombolysis is strictly limited by the time-window and probably leads to cerebral hemorrhage while neuro-protection has received more and more recognition but still no such effective neuro-protection agents appeared in clinics until now and relatively little were known about the treatment of brain vessel diseases through protection of vessel compared to thrombolysis and neuro-protection.ObjectiveBased on the framework of"three dimensional stereoscopic net system"and the new concept of"vessel-collateral and vascular system disorders", we decided to study the pathogenesis and therapeutic methods of cerebral infarction utilizing the theory of collateral disorders. We used its representative prescription: Tongxinluo Capsule and observe its effects on brain ischemia injury induced by cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)and the probable mechanisms through observing its protective effects on brain microvascular damage of rats subjected to MCAO and behavioral changes and histomorphology,free radical, amino acids, overloading of intracellular Ca2+ and neuron apoptosis.
